Choice Veterinary Care – In Home Pet Euthanasia

I am extremely grateful for this service that CVC provides. My family dog, Buddy, had to leave us yesterday after living an amazing 15 years. I read great things about CVC so I believed that this was the best way for Buddy to go– at home, with his family.
I gave the office a call, and Dr. Michelle, who was very kind and informative, explained to me what was expected and that they would be available when we were ready.
After discussing with my family, we decided that Buddy was ready to go, and we gave the office a call to let them know that we were ready that day. I was surprised of how far they were willing to travel to provide this service at a reasonable price. They offer other great services such as, group cremations, individual cremation (they gave the option to deliver the ashes via Fedex or by hand), and even paw impressions.
Dr. Kevin Chung came to our house last night to assist us in saying our goodbyes. He was amazing. He was patient, kind, caring, and understanding. Dr. Kevin did not rush us even though it was late in the evening. He made sure that we took our time with the whole process, and answered any questions that we had.
I can’t have imagined any better way to say goodbye to our precious Buddy. He seemed very comfortable and at peace when he left us. It is never easy to let a best friend go, but this service made it much smoother and easier. My family and I are so grateful for CVC. Thank you.

I read so many beautiful reviews here and am so very sad to say that I got the vet who decided to talk about her animals while our sweet Angel was literally taking her last breathe. I didn’t join in on her comments about her dog hoping she would stop and realize this was about us not her. Then when I thought she would get that this was about our sweetheart, I made a comment about what a wonderful dog Angel was all these years only to hear from her a second time «I had a dog…» I am so sad that our experience was a technical eauthanasia that was very fast. I actually changed to this company after speaking with Dr. Amy on the phone who was so sweet but wasn’t the one who came out. I knew that but thought that the actual vet who would come would have the compassion so lovingly discussed on Unilocal.Very sad that our last experience with Angel didn’t include telling stories to this person for fear of her bringing up her stories. I spoke to Choice Vet who said that our vet had good Unilocal reviews but I’ve gone back one year and don’t see anything. I believe a good company would say let us share the cost with you. That would be nice. I did not bring that up for fear they would think this was only about money. I switched vets even though this one cost much more because of Dr. Amy’s love that exudes through the phone. Just so sad that our last moments with Angel weren’t what a lot of people shared. It takes a special person to know what we need as our pets cross. At that time, it is all about the animal and the family. Nothing else. I can’t get this moment back. I wish I would have held her as she crossed but feared the IV would come out. I should have known to ask. It was all done very fast. I just wish it was more personable.
Dr. Brad, your in home visits are for the families as well as the pets. I can never get this experience back. There is no reason on earth to talk about yourself or your pets being the professional no matter how you try to spin this. Yes, Angel went peacefully but again trying to tell stories of endearment went completely unnoticed. How could your vet be that far off? How do I get this moment back? Where are the great reviews on Unilocal about her? How long does an in home eauthanasia take cause compared to vets I talked to after this, this was done very fast. I think I would be much more peaceful had this been done differently. And yes, you do cost more. I can give you phone numbers of the same service, (well I hope not) but less costly.

Now your just being silly with your posts. Why dont you have more faith in the other posts on Unilocal and allow me my concerns? People can ask for you or Amy or discuss your business more in depth. Dr Peter arrived at the house at the time they promised he would. He was patient and kind. He was interested in hearing all our stories about Sally, listening with a caring and patient heart. We talked about home euthanasia, about Sally’s illness, about her history, our feelings. He encouraged the children present to interact with her as they were a little shy. I wanted to move Sally to a more convenient place but Dr Peter got up on the bed with her, where she was comfortable, and was able to gracefully do all he needed to. Things could not have gone better. After Sally was gone, he talked with us more, letting us tell stories about Sally. He acknowledged and affirmed all our feelings. I dealt with Dr Michelle on the phone. I had to change the time for Dr Peter to come THREE times. Each time she was friendly and kind and I was made to feel supported and cared for.
Our little Sally was the spunkiest little cat ever! I got her when she was 18 and had a little less than a year with her. She was the loudest purr ~ er ever! She couldn’t have been more full of personality and spirit! Happy trails, little cat. Thank you Dr Peter and Dr Michelle for making our goodbye the very best it could have been.

Thank you so much for helping us say goodbye to Macy yesterday. As hard it was, the experience was more than we could have asked for and really helped us close out her life peacefully. As I’m sure you could tell, Macy was such an important part of our family and she will forever be missed, however, it was obviously her time. We’ve been able to move on to celebration today, and we really can’t thank you enough for your compassion and support throughout the process.

This is the second time I have used Choice. My heart is broken, but I was able to make my fur baby’s passing, a gentle, and peaceful one. I have lost two cats, in two years to Cancer. Having them pass at home, surrounded by love, was the best option. Choice made this time, less stressful. Thank you again.

There’s no way to explain how easy Dr Amy and her husband made this experience for us. I knew I didn’t want my dog’s last experience to be a trip to the vet, but I didn’t imagine it could be so peaceful.
If you’re lucky enough to say goodbye under non-​emergency circumstances then CVC gets my highest recommendation.

It’s very difficult for me to write this review, but I am so glad I chose them to help me through this very difficult time. One of our dogs recently became very sick & I am so thankful to have chosen them to come out when it was time for our dog. They took care of everything for us & I am so glad she was at home with us when she passed. They are so compassionate and professional. I wouldn’t use anyone else under these circumstances. 2015 has been very difficult for our family, we lost two beloved pets to illness and old age. Echoing what others have said — Choice Vet made the experience less about the process and more about relieving the stress, pain and suffering for a loved one. Like those before me it is really tough to write this review but I feel I must as these people are so incredibly compassionate and great at what they do. I could not do it but I thank God that they use their gifts to help animals and people. I called several companies and received several price quotes and time line options so I can save you some trouble. Michelle and her husband were by far the best choice and also one of the most reasonable. My vet said it is expensive and I know for some it could be cost prohibitive but for us it was worth every dime. My pet/​family member only had about 1 bad moment and for me that was priceless. They could not have been kinder towards me or my pet or more professional. Thank you from the bottom of heart for making such a horrible decision be the best one for him and us.

Like many other reviews have stated — this is a hard one to write because the loss is still so very new.
I first learned of Choice Veterinary a year ago when my neighbor used them for in-​home euthanasia and after care services for their dog Bubba. I never imagined I would be asking for that number when our beloved Tank suddenly passed away just a week ago (Nov 1^st).
I feel so horrible that I can’t remember the name of the woman who came with her husband (I think Michelle) — we were so emotionally wrecked, but I do remember the extreme amount of compassion and patience they gave us in saying our good-​byes and finalizing our wants for Tank’s after-​care. Christine, who returned his ashes was wonderful as well and gave my kiddos a big heartfelt hug.
When we lost Tank, we didn’t lose a pet, we lost a family member. The staff at Choice made us feel safe that he was going to be taken care of, handled properly and returned to us with care.

It took me a year to be able to write a review, on October 24 2014 choice Vetenary care staff Doctor Amy came to my house because my shitzu was suffering from lymphoma and after about 4 months battling this disease we lost the fight they are very caring and professional, I did not want to go to vet office where it was cold and scary, the ashes was brought back to me with a paw print in a very nice box in a professional way too, if you are thinking about home euthanasia I highly recommend choice Vetenary care,

This review is extremely hard for me to write because of the subject involved but I never personally had the chance to thank these amazing people for taking care of my baby girl Roxy as well as they did.
Roxy was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in the last week of August this year and within days she was in so much discomfort and stress from her difficulty breathing that we couldn’t bear to see her suffering anymore. I called September 1^st around 1pm while our family was enjoying Roxy’s final day at the dog beach to have them visit us at home later that night and Dr. Amy was so sweet while I was hysterical just explaining the situation over the phone. She was extremely accommodating when I couldn’t handle them coming over at 5pm, it was too soon for any of us that day to say goodbye, and she made 8:30pm happen despite it being later than their usual availability.
After getting Roxy home, washed, and comfortable that night we waited for Dr. Brad and when he arrived he was so amazing with her. She had settled in my lap and was happy to see him so rather than having her overwork to get up he came straight to her to say hi and pet her which put us all at ease knowing he was going to take care of her and not allow any stress…
My sweet little girl went to heaven in my arms surrounded by her family and people that loved her beyond words and, while it was the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced, I am happy it was Dr. Brian sharing her final moments and our grief immediately afterwords. It still hurts more than I have words for that she’s gone but I know that she got the send off she would have chosen if she had a voice because she was never a fan of the vet and she did not experience one second of distress with Brian.
Thank you both so much for making an impossible choice as easy as you could and taking care of my baby when there was no longer anything I could do for her but let her go. It gives me one less thing to be sad about knowing she was in such good hands when we had to say goodbye and I wish both of you nothing but the best and happiness always.

This past Saturday, we said Good-​Bye to our Beautiful and Loving Kali, a wonderful furry kitty whom we loved and enjoyed for over 21 years. We never imagined that there would be a silver lining in such a painful and difficult decision that we had to make.
We were so extremely fortunate to have found Dr. Amy and her husband Brad. We called them on Friday evening. They immediately got back to us and compassionately and genuinely listened to our story and explained how they would be able to help us in this time of great sorrow. I was amazed at their level of sensitivity and understanding. They spoke to us as if we had known and trusted them for a lifetime.
The next day they came to our home and turned an extremely heartbreaking event into a beautiful and meaningful act of compassion and tenderness. They are amazing people! They were so respectful and gentle with Kali and gave us the time and space we so desperately needed.
There are not enough words, or stars to be given, to express our appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Amy and Brad. Our last memories of Kali were as beautiful and wonderful as the many years in which she gave us all the love and affection that she could have possible given.

HI Dr. Amy and Brad, I just wanted to thank you for taking care of our Scooby last night. Saying good bye to Scooby was so hard and emotionally painful for all of us. We have never used this type of home care before and it was such a different experience compared to when we took our dog, Kimo to the vet. You and your husband had so much warmth, compassion and patience with us and Scooby, compared to sitting in a ‘cold’ veterinarian’s office. More importantly, I was so glad that Scooby didn’t have to make another trip to the vet. Every time we went to the doctor, she was poked and prodded and I know it would not have been a pleasant experience for her if we had chosen that route. Scooby was surrounded by all those that loved and cared for her and in the comfort of her own room, she was sent home to her Mamma.
Thank you for all the compassion you brought to a very sad situation and for the love you show to all the animals who need your care! Scooby thanks you and sends you kisses and hugs too… xoxo Sheri

Thank you Choice Vet Care and to Dr. Amy and Brad for being so gentle and compassionate. We chose at home Euthanasia over taking our «Mister» to the vet so that he could enjoy his last moments at home and we are so happy that we did. Although a little expensive it was well worth it. We had a calm and meaningful goodbye and got to spend as much time throughout each part of the process as we needed. Although we didn’t ask for his ashes to be returned to us we were happy that he could have a communal cremation instead of sending his body to sanitation. Dr. Amy and Brad were wonderful. Thanks again. We will definitely call on them in the future for our other pets if need be. The veterinarians office will not be an option.

Letting go of my Kaya was so hard. Making the decision to let her go was difficult. Dr. Amy and her husband were kind, compassionate and replied right away. We called them after hours on a Monday and they rushed right over. They treated us with kindness and respected our final moments with our precious fur baby.
I couldn’t imagine the stress of taking Kaya to the vet and watching her pass away on a cold floor. I’m so grateful for this service. Kaya was allowed to pass peacefully, on her bed, in her room. A week later we received a beautiful box with her name burned in a wood charm, along with a paw print a vial of her hair. Thank you, Dr. Amy for your services. We could not have done this without you!

There is a reason Dr. Amy has literally all 5 star reviews. I’m just here to echo that sentiment. I called her this morning and she was able to travel outside her normal coverage area to come tend to us and our boy, Douglas, this evening.
It was a truly peaceful and serene experience, despite the obvious heartbreak of losing a member of the family. Dr. Amy and her husband were so compassionate, respectful, professional, and loving that I couldn’t ever imagine going any other route if we ever have to go through this again. They went above and beyond to get all the way across Los Angeles to us on a Friday in rush hour when no one else was available. We will be forever grateful for that and for the service they provided. They even gave us hugs as they departed.
You are truly special people doing a beautiful thing for people. You should go to sleep every night knowing you are making the world a better place. You truly made one of the most difficult days of my life bearable and peaceful. Thank you again.

I had to put my sweet baby girl to sleep today :(
I decided the best option would be to have in-​home euthanasia. My little girl was not scared but very comfortable at home. I thank Amy Stillwell-​Graiff and husband for being so caring and kind. It’s difficult to write this review. I am tearing up as I type but Choice Vet deserves hundreds of stars.
The service they provide is really so compassionate. They operate 7 days a week and do not observe holidays. We had to let go of our precious 15 yo sweet Wawa on a memorial day weekend. When I called Choice Vet, Dr. Amy was very gentle and said they dont observe holidays because our pets dont know holidays. I am really so grateful for their availability. When our pets are suffering, the last thing any pet parents would want is to worry about taking their baby to the hospital and putting him/​her down on a cold metal table. Choice Vet will help your beloved pet pass in the comfort and familiar surrounding of Home.
Dr. Amy and Brad were really so wonderful in a heartbreaking time. They were respectful, compassionate, patient, and so gentle while we bawled our eyes out. Goodbyes are so difficult especially when your pet has devoted to you and gave their unconditional love their whole life. Dr. Amy and Brad gave us time to say goodbye and did not rush us in the process at all.
Our case was a little bit special in the sense that we needed extra accommodation. Being a Buddhist family, we wanted Wawa’s body to rest alongside a recurring Buddhist chant for at least 8 hours after passing. The belief is to give the spirit ample time to leave the body peacefully without being disturbed. Dr. Amy and Brad agreed to come back and retrieve her body the next morning and it was comforting to see the same people come back and pick her up. We send Wawa off wrapped in her favorite scarf/​blanket. While taking her away, Brad wrapped her in the scarf so gently and held her like a baby. It was really with a lot of respect and so comforting for my family to see.
It took a little over one week for Wawa’s ashes to come home. Choice Vet’s assistant Gabriel delivered Wawa back to us and he was very kind. We love the box holding her ashes, the name tag, the paw print, the heart charm and the little tube of hair next to the paw print. The whole experience with Choice Vet was wonderful in a very traumatic and sad time.
I have 2 other friends that also used Choice Vet. One friend doesn’t use Unilocal but she has only wonderful things to say about Choice Vet. Another friend who I actually learned about Choice Vet from also shares the same sentiment but it’s emotionally too difficult for her to write about the experience on Unilocal so this is really a 5 Stars review from 3 families.
The service Choice Vet provides is a wonderful final gift to your pet. To pass peacefully, quietly, with dignity in the comfort of home surrounded by loves one without fear and stress from being in a strange environment. I highly highly recommend Choice Vet to all the pet parents.

First off, I want to thank Dr Amy and her husband Brad so very much for taking the time, making the effort to meet and work with us.
Our very first and beloved dog Sugar, a chihuahua that has been in our lives for 16 years was diagnosed with renal failure. It broke our hearts so much to hear our vet say a dog his age may or may not get better as this disease is difficult to treat. After having Sugar hospitalized for 2 days, he seemed better at first but when he came back home, he stopped eating and was progressively getting worse. At that point, I realized I needed to start doing research and prepare for his last days to come.
I’ve struggled with whether I’d like to have him euthanized or to let nature take it’s course. During his last days at home, Sugar has been incredibly strong and still walks around and drinks whenever he can. But I wanted to make sure if and once he starts to show signs of pain that I would find a more comfortable way for him to move on.
That’s when I researched high and low and came across Choice Vet. With other in-​house euthanasia services also available, I felt most connected and comfortable with Dr Amy after reviewing their website. She just has this charm and calmness about her that I knew Sugar would be in good hands.
I had my fiancé James make the initial phone call to inquire for her services and was disappointed to hear she doesn’t service our area. She was kind enough to refer 2 other doctors that also provide similar service. Backtracking with researching the 2 other doctors, I just didn’t feel as comfortable and asked James to please call Dr. Amy back and ask if she could make the exception to work with us. I’m very particular and feel strongly that she would be able to take care of my Sugar the way I want.
Dr. Amy called back and said she would be willing to make the exception to work with us, while I was on the phone speaking of Sugars health history, my beloved Sugar passed on its own naturally. I couldn’t believe it! I think somehow, Sugar wanted a natural passing and preferred to leave us that way than putting us through seeing him being euthanized which would have just killed me on the inside.
I called Dr. Amy back to let her know that while I did want to work with her, Sugar passed naturally. Now what comes next is to have him cremated and I asked if she could help us on that part. She was very accommodating and explained how things would work and scheduled a time and place for us to meet and drop Sugar off.
When we met with her, she greeted us with such loving compassionate hugs. I felt a sense of relief to know I’ve found the right person and that Sugar will be in the best hands possible.
Today, I received back Sugars ash and it was packaged so beautifully with his paw print to remember. I’m still sad to have lost Sugar, but i’m so fortunate to have had him for 16 years and that’s amazing on its own.
To the whole team at Choice vet, especially Dr. Amy and Brad, Thank you for making the process go as smoothly as could be. We feel blessed to have found you both and words cannot express how grateful we’ll forever be.
