OHBOY. (THIS update pertains only to the deli counter… TODAY) The sandwich that you have made at the deli counter is only as good as the person that makes it! So far I’ve been really lucky and have had wonderfully crafted sandwiches here at this(King Kullen) Deli, they would go out of their way to overload the sandwich. Unfortunately not so today and I have only myself to blame all the warning signs were there, I just was being too polite. First I had to wait 5 minutes at the counter it was only myself and one other person who was being helped 6 people were behind the counter still took awhile for me to be helped. The gentleman who finally helped me appeared to do so reluctantly, and as I told him what I wanted for the sandwich, he made a face??? THEN he turned away and started to make the sandwich before I was finished with my instructions. Sandwich was quite simple chicken cutlets HOT on a hero with a with mayonnaise and thin sliced onions, cut into 4. I had to repeat my instructions to the gentleman a few times during the making of the sandwich, No Worries. When the sandwich is finished and I took the bag off the counter I immediately noticed it was much lighter in weight than the sandwich I usually received. (it was short about two cutlets) when I opened the bag I saw that the sandwich was not carefully wrapped in the white deli paper with the nice fold on the top … that I usually get. INSTEAD, the paper was all unevenly CRUMPLED. (like a newspaper hastily rolled up) not even closed with one and being open and the sandwich falling out. I Immediately noticed the smallness of the sandwich the hero roll the guy selected the smallest in the bin and he cut one of the ends off… I love the round crunchy end! The sandwich was a disgusting mess. The onions used in my sandwich where old and fibrous, perhaps past maturity. The guy really slathered the mayonnaise all over the sandwich making inedible, the mayonnaise was not cold. it was room temperature. After a few bites I decided not to risk my stomach …(which is now feeling queasy) The gentleman who was a little older perhaps in his fifties appeared to speak a foreign language(thick accent) and could not wait for me to leave the counter before angrily berating a fellow employee in that language. There’s more I could add about my experience today… BUT… OHWELL ! Moving forward my plan of action is that; I shall make sure that this . GUYNEVERMAKES my sandwich again ‚ if necessary I will step out of place online and take the NEXTDELIGUY. That’s okay I am trying to diet. There are many other options for my lunch in the beautiful town of Manhasset I will start to explore them. THANKS!

Many workers are racist or don’t speak English. Luckily one African American male worker saw me struggling to find an item in that tiny ass store. He helped me right away. Don’t come here don’t waste your time. I wouldn’t suggest it. I only come here for my boss. 2 stars for the guy who helped and for a FEW nice deli workers also.

Used to be a really nice store but have noticed lately that the employees have an «attitude» and seem to be angry if you ask a question. The parking is terrible because the parking lot is shared with other stores and because of the closure of the King Kullen in Port Washington and because Waldbaums closed in Great Neck… now this store is always crowded with rude people who leave their baskets in the middle of the isle and walk away… on the plus side the store is very clean…

Unimpressive. When you first walk in, it has a good feeling. Fairly open/very airy. However walking around is always disappointing. There is a fairly large selection but it doesn’t outweigh the cons of this place. Very overpriced and i’ve never been happy with the quality. I only go here to pick up simple things quickly. I would never get freshly made bread here or cold cuts. Even their egg salad wasn’t great. I also can’t find things well here. A quick trip to the supermarket to pick up three items turns long when it takes me forever to find things. The large selection becomes a negative. This King Kullen is good with parking, kitchen supplies and having a lot of registers open. Though I don’t do my main grocery shopping here, i’ve never had a problem with the lines. Staff has always been helpful with telling me where things are. Also it is very clean. Main point: Good for one or two items if you don’t want to drive far. I would never do my actual grocery shopping here.

I came here to see if they made sandwiches and yes they do and great ones. Work in area and went to an amazing deli department their salads looked fresh and appetizing. Steve the deli guy was very helpful and made me a great sandwich. Will be a go to spot for lunch and if I need to pick up milk why not, the store looked clean and the staff friendly.

Everything here is over priced. Sometimes by a lot. Most people in town don’t care much because it’s conveniently located. Started going to Whole Foods for my organic stuff, and stop & shop for my non-perishables. Also they are very lacking in common health food trend items like kefir.

They are revamping their look and I’m thrilled. I come from miami where shopping for food is a pleasure in places that are spacious, CLEAN, uncrowded even at high traffic you have room to move. This is the ONLY market that I feel respects the clients need for elbow room. I’ve witnessed cart rage in Whole Foods, Waldbaums and fairway for that reason. Moreover, new shopping carts AND self check out counters! Will be coming more often. BUT would really love an expanded organic section :)) and what’s up with all the plastic bags??? You know that is what is holding you back from five star ratings. Hope KC mgt reads this.

The lack off customer service here is atrocious… They are very rude and disrespectful… Had 2 bad incidences, the first was with the cashier, which I brushed off but tonight I called in an order at the deli counter and the guy was so rude, and told me we get screwed when we take orders on the phone so you have to come in and do it… Told him I call my order in every 3 days and they never have a problem with it… Well after an 1 and 15 mins I go to pick up my order and he hears me asking his co worker about it and chooses to ignore it until he is asked and he says yea I remember that it was something like a lb of turkey. Mind you I waited another 15 min in the process… He acted as if it was no big deal. When the manager spoke to him he tells him we have been very busy and I didn’t have time, grant you there was no one there… I would give this place minus –5 stars

Nice selection, fresh meats and vegetables. The supermarket is a nice departure from the chaos of Stop and Shop in NHP. We are loyal King Kullen customers.

I totally agree and feel compelled to rave about this bakery. It is my secret weapon. Great cakes, cheese horns, birthday cake varieties! When I tell people I got it from King Kullen, they can hardly believe me.

The customer service is appalling. I had a disturbing and unfortunate experience at this supermarket. Upon checking out I questioned the change I was given(I thought $ 10 off). Without a word the assistant manger escorted me to the service desk, ultimately informed me the cash register count was correct so this suggested I was trying to put something over on them. I was told I was to sit in the manager’s office while they reviewed the surveillance tapes – not an invitation but an order –My time and word apparently worth nothing. Never a courteous word to the customer, just orders and accusatory tone of voice. The discrepancy in change became irrelevant when basic civility and customer service is so lacking. The rudeness was amazizng. I left the store insulted and without resolution with regard to my question. I will never be back – keep the change.

This location has an amazing baker. You will find his delicious cakes to be fresh and not too sweet. My favorites include the mocha cake(the right combo of chocolate and coffee) and cannoli cake(superior filling).

Great supermarket. I live in the city where large spacious supermarkets are relatively non-existent so its great to go to this store to shop. the deli section is a must… try the turkey slaw

I get foot long subs here whenever I’ve got the budget and 150+ people to feed! $ 12/foot which can feet about 3 – 5 people per foot is awesome! Just order the day before, and someone will help you wheel the 4−6″ long subs to your car for you(with all dipping sauces included). My favorite is the Italian sub — haven’t had the budget to get the Chicken Cutlet sub, but I’ve heard great things about that as well. It’s a small supermarket, but I’m a fan! The deli folks are really nice here.

I forgot to mention that there’s a coin star here. As far as I’m concerned this is my new go to place for groceries. Even though it is pricey but it is worth it.

Surprise Sushi! Not super quality sushi, but a fairly reasonable sized Eel Roll and Spicy Salmon Roll for $ 4.99 made by nice Chinese people. The rest of the store is clean and well organized. The prices were reasonable and I didn’t need to have a King Kullen card so that was nice too.
