I’ve been here multiple times and I love their chirashi bowl and their bento box. The sushi(2 for $ 8.25) it’s a good deal considering an order of ONE sushi roll is at $ 5-something. But of course, the 2 for $ 8.25 is a smaller portion. It also seems like every time I come in with my cousin, it’s dead but then we bring in the crowd Lol Service is always so good here! The same chef and waitress is always so welcoming and nice!

I’m sorry but I like to really examine how my sushi is being prepared and this guy(always same guy) takes such care into his prep for sushi, I thoroughly appreciate it. And on top of the care, the fish is so fresh! Cindy the only waitress there runs like a speed demon and she is absolutely one of the sweetest people I have ever met! I always order the Pad See Ew or the Ginger entrée. Their tofu is the best I’ve had in all Asian restaurants. they cut the tofu in small pieces and fry them up so well so that there’s a real meaty texture to the tofu. I love coming here. the prices are also amazing!

This is a Thai and Sushi place which is run by Chinese people. I actually came here 2 times to try both kinda of food. I have mixed feelings about this place, but at the end of the day, it’s not too bad. Lunch: I had the chicken bento box. Bento is Japanese so I expected teriyaki chicken, but when the server asked me which sauce I wanted, it was a list of Thai curry. I picked green curry. it came with rice, salad, stir fry with chicken in green curry and 4 California rolls. The stir fry looked and tasted like Chinese food… no, it was Chinese food. But it tasted good so no complaints. Dinner: I had the 2 roll combo. I had a lot of problems with this one. I had crunchy salmon and white tuna. I wondered how it was so cheap($ 9 including tax), and when I got it I realized how. Pretty much it was small pieces of fish with seaweed and rice. The crunchy salmon was old oily salmon pieces with stale fried batter. I tasted one and just threw that out. The white tuna was fishy and slimy. If you go here, stay away from the sushi, just stick to the Thai/Chinese food.

When I think I will return to a place I usually like to try it 3 or more times before leaving a review. In this case I might be moving near the area or someplace out of «repeat customer» range. That being said, this place might earn another star from me(for consistency) later. It’s a typical strip mall joint. The dining room is in need of updating as it feels dingy and poorly lit, albeit it was fairly clean. I ordered a piece of tuna, white tuna, and salmon to sample the fish and it was ok. Not super fresh but fresh enough… I think. The miso soup was good and tasted freshly made. The protagonist of my lunch was the pad thai which was very good. The meat(beef) was not the typical chewy overcooked stuff that has become far to common in such places. I asked for them to make it spicy, but I think they fell a little short of my craving for heat. Oddly, they did not have any chilli paste so Sriracha sauce filled the position. Bottom line… If I move to the area I will definitely return. I was satisfied with the entire meal and would be interested in trying more off the menu. There were some appealing dishes listed and I would like to give them a chance to show off their Maki.

My husband and I absolutely love their sushi! We’ve eaten at a couple of other sushi places in Brandon/Riverview area and the sushi was subpar. We have dined in, but normally order take out. The restaurant is not very busy as it seems take out is what they do most of. The staff is friendly and courteous. The sushi tastes fresh and is made in a timely manner.

This is by far my favorite place to eat! The staff is so friendly every time my boyfriend and I come in for dinner. Their volcano roll is to die for! I would definitely recommend this place to any one!

I am a seasoned Thai food aficionado and eat Thai food at many different locations, almost daily. I live near this place and made a mental note, some time ago, to give it a try. Today happened to be that day. From the look of it, and the fact that it is in Seffner, my expectations were very low. The restaurant itself is plain and the service was slow. Nothing could prepare me, however, for the food that I partially consumed today. I’m still gagging. First, let me say this, these people are not Thai people, they appear to be Chinese. This is further substantiated by the food itself, which was typically over thickened sauces of a Chinese nature. There was nothing remotely Thai about this food, except the name. I ordered Thai basil. It tasted just like my daughters pad Thai which was the strangest pink color. As different as both dishes are, they both have the same very strange flavor. This was a truly bad dining experience. Neither my daughter nor myself could finish more than one third of our plate. When the gaggy’s finally subside, perhaps will be able to laugh about this experience. Truly the worst dining experience ever!

I can honestly say that was the worst sushi I have ever had. I was new to the area for a new job and I am praying that I don’t go back to work and get sick. Service was also horrible. I order a bento box and didn’t get it and asked for avecado in one of the two horrible rolls I got and it never came. I never got the box just the rolls but then was charged for the box. At that point since they kept coming back to me with questions as the service was horrible I just wanted to walk out but didn’t. The wait was horrible too. I was running late to get back as they took so long and every time I looked for the waitress she was texting on her phone. Please don’t go there!

We’ve lived in this area for over a year and had been looking for a near by sushi place. I was at Publix and noticed Wasabi and the first thing I was impressed to see was their hours of operation open every day all day and late! Next I was impressed of how inexpensive their prices are and the wide variety of menu times from sushi, to boxes and bowls to curry dishes and hibachi. We tried it out tonight. Inside was clean, smelled good and there were two friendly, attentive employees. We ordered 3 sushi rolls, and bento box and a side of veggies(I posted pictures) and our bill was only $ 25. Everything came out in a timely manner and it was fresh and tasty. We will be back. My tip: ignore it’s negative reviews and try this place out for yourself.

Odd smell when you enter, but it appears clean. The teriyaki was good but the rest of the menu was not.

I did not enjoy this place at all. The sushi was bland and small. I had the Bento box with a Tampa and Crunchy Shrimp rolls. No good comments about either.

So I’m guessing that wasabi has hired new staff because the reviews are way underrated for the quality of sushi and service they provide. I ordered the tampa(tempa) roll which was delicious and had the salmon and tuna sashimi bowl. Everything was extremely fresh and well prepared and served in a reasonable time. Very little wait. This was one of those places that I ordered my meal and then ordered more because it was so good. I would take anyone here who enjoys sushi.

I love sushi so it comes as no surprise when I say that going to a sushi restaurant on a Friday night is the best way to start my weekend. We got there around 9 pm so there were not many diners. Good as I hate waiting for my food. We ordered the Thai tea and it was delicious. My wife had the sushi special, which is a choice of three rolls(limited choices) and a choice of salad or miso soup for $ 10.75. I ordered three rolls from the extensive menu; the dragon roll, the spider roll, and the yun yun roll. All three were really good each one cost between $ 6.50 and $ 8. My daughter ordered the Sweet Basil Beef bento box. It came with a small salad, a serving of white rice, the sweet basil beef with vegetables, and a four-pc california roll. The service was unusually slow because as the waitress/owner took an order at each table, she would immediately go over to the stove and cook it. Then serve it and take the next order. Her son was the sushi chef and another son worked in the back as the busboy. She did manage to keep our drinks fresh. I took away one star because the service was slow.

Although I’ve only ordered the bento box several times to go, it has always met my expectations. The service is always nice and polite, and the sushi rolls are fresh and tasty.

Had sushi, and Pad Thai there. The sushi was alright although slightly plain. Though for the price I cannot complain. The Pad Thai was not Pad Thai. It wasn’t horrible. It was just some strange mix of noodles, sweet and sour sauce, and stir fried chicken and eggs. With a dusting of peanuts. Overall Stick to the sushi.

Great place if your diet requires bland food. The plain white rice was probably the more flavorful item on my plate.

I have to say that after a few months not visiting them I was surprised to see that the quality of the food declined drastically. It wasn’t as fresh and savory as it used to be. The staff is always friendly but unfortunately the reason you go to a restaurant is the food. Not sure if I want to give them another try, maybe I will but if they don’t cut it, I don’t think I will continue coming. Your food has to be great if you want your customers to come back. It is a clean and nice place, but I’m just wondering if they are cutting corners with the quality of the food or the cooking process.

Stopped in here last night with a friend of mine who is just recently being introduced to Thai food. I had to manually add the business because it wasn’t in the Unilocal d/b just yet and according to her it’s pretty new.(I didn’t get to check in because the app didn’t recognize me just adding it.) Located in the shopping center with Publix and Walmart on MLK I never would have found it if someone hadn’t directed me there, even with the neon blue«Wasabi» above its doors. Service was good. Attentive and kind, almost too much so, though. You know? When they asked if we wanted more soda/tea and we said no, they asked a minute later even though we hadn’t touched what we had left. That said, I’d rather have overly attentive servers than inattentive. Food wise? It’s the equivalent of getting take out Chinese– which is not necessarily a bad thing! I love authentic and«spot on» flavors a lot of the time, but sometimes I want hole-in-the-wall, father/son/mother/sister in the kitchen screaming in Chinese, «I have a wok and I know how to use it» style foods. And this is that. Flavors are manufactured. I had the green curry and it tasted much like curry paste I buy, but the vegetables were cooked perfectly. They don’t use Jasmine rice, which is mildly disappointing, but okay, it is kind of expensive. The menu had a lot of sushi which I didn’t try, but may be up for some time or another. They also offered all of their Thai entrées with a plate of rice, noodles or bento style. Interesting and kind of neat. No booze– just for the record. Overall I liked it. I would definitely go back with people that are not capable of eating the heat of some of the other Thai restaurants in the area.
