History

Established in 2015.

The iron pelican bistro name was found by executive chef gerald wicker. A southern local who has been an executive chief chef offshore for more than 14 years. Prior to that chef wicker has worked as assistant chef for several years throughout the capital of New Orleans. The iron pelican welcomes you and will see to it your experience will be satisfying. First I want to thank all of my viewing customers and welcome you to the iron pelican bistro. I’m executive chef Gerald WIcker. I’m a graduate from youngs memorial college in Morgan city. I have been cooking creole Cajun seafood. And fine italian cuisine for as long as I remember. 25 plus years. I have always wanted to be able to offer people a place where they can find. Good food. Relaxing atmosphere. Laughter. Good company. And the option for you to be able to BYOB. As our food is great. The prices are unbeatable. We want families to be able to go out and eat. Drink. Have a great time. And not feeling broke at the end of the night due to the high expense of restaurant alcohol prices. Here. Bring your choice of wine. Beer. Or liquor. Eat good. Get full. Have fun. What an awesome discovery! Hard to find, it is hidden in a little sideways mall behind a pool table store. My Blackened Redfish, sauted spinach, and au gratin potatoes were perfectly prepared. And the Five Chocolate Cake was incredible!

I thought I was headed to the Rusty pelican but GPS brought me to the Iron pelican. Boy were we pleasantly surprised. Extremely friendly staff, family-​owned, and a delicious menu of options. We enjoyed visiting while from Dallas. Already recommended this to several local folks while I was there during Mardi Gras.

The food was VERY salty and the service was not professional. It took 10+ minutes for anyone to acknowledge us once we were seated. My husband and I were just getting ready to walk out when the manager finally came over. The waitress probably had never waited tables before or was new. Our glasses of water sat empty nearly the entire time we were eating and we never received the iced tea we ordered. The chef kept running food to the wrong tables. This happened to us 3 times. Keep in mind this place is very small with maybe 10 tables in total. It was very warm in the dining area. Not the experience we were hoping for.

Awesome food! Portions are large and food was true to Louisiana. We had Crabby Patty, stuffed Lobster Ravoli, and Kids Spaghetti. It was so good we couldn’t leave without tying their chocolate cake and cheesecake. Everything was delicious! Will return again!

Very good food and great service. We had the mozzarella sticks, fried pickles, red snapper linguine, and burger. Everything was delicious. The only thing I didn’t like was the sauce for the mozzarella sticks; it was cold red sauce? Not hot red marinara. Weird. Overall though good food! We will be back again!

Randomly found this restaurant, and the staff told me that it is new. I got the Crabmeat Cannelloni, and it was DELICIOUS! Other people in my party got poboys and seafood platters, and they all enjoyed it! The restaurant itself is really small, and I wouldn’t bring a big group of people there. It’s kinda dark, and it would be nice for a romantic dinner.

Everything that was brought to our table was excellent. Great atmosphere, service was wonderful. Our entrees included the RedSnapper Royal, the Crabby Crab definitely made are tastebuds sing with joy.
