Customer service in auto repair and appliance repair with ASE certified automotive techinians and trained professional appliance technicians; new appliance sales… Whirlpool, Maytag, Kitchen Aid and Amana brands; TV sales… Toshiba, Samsung, Sony, LG and Sharp; 20 brands of new tires, including Michelin, BF Goodrich, Uniroyal, Goodyear, Bridgestone, Firestone and Cooper; 17,000 foot facility with very clean, inviting customer lounge complete with children’s play area; our appliance staff delivers all new appliances and TVs in our trucks, all are installed by Smitty’s professionals and if service is needed after the sale, our technicians perform any repairs needed. We have 7 auto service bays and do service ranging from oil changes to alignments to brakes, and most maintenance items in between. We’ll pick up and deliver your vehicle in the local area, give you a ride/​pick you up or you may use one of our two new loaner cars while we work on yours… those conveniences are free.

History

Established in 1955.

Waylie Boren and W. W. Smith opened the Manchester location February 26, 1955. It has grown from a 3 person operation to the current 17 person operation… although originally located across the street from where we now sit, Smitty’s has been in this area since opening. We normally have over 200 new appliances in stock, a couple dozen TVs and 1,500 new tires. For insurance reasons we are no longer able to sell used appliances or tires but do hundreds of tire and appliance repairs each year.

Business Owner

Second generation member of the Smitty’s organization, Max has worked here since 1964 (outside of dropping out of college twice and his 4 years in the Navy). Married to Susan, who has worked at Smitty’s since 1973. The third generation is showing great promise, with oldest daughter Jenny and son Maxie having worked here for many years already, as well as Jenny’s husband Chad.
