I was looking to spend the day at singing beach in manchester by the sea and found this was the only B & B that was within walking distance from the town and the main beach. The walk was cute and relatively short… under 10min from town. the place was well kept and clean and had AC in every room. The price was reasonable. The place is not renovated or loaded with amenities but perfect for a short stay. It was wifi accessible and the owner was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was included — it was simple but sufficient: toast, cereale, yogurt, coffee, fruit. I would def recommend this place if your looking for a clean, safe and comfortable place to sleep for a night or two.

We lodged at the B&B for 5 nights making an extended stay while attending a fantastic wedding at The Sharksmouth Estate — The Stone House in Manchester By The Sea. We had 3 rooms at the Old Corner Inn for our family and we all had a most amazing and epic stay… The Inn is very conveniently located for all the touristy-type activities. It’s very private, clean, comfortable, and has a most welcoming atmosphere… the personality of the Inn Keeper(Michael Stankus) was all around and made everyone feel comfortable in a nice friendly homey way. «Just ring the bell» and Mike will be there to see to what-ever you need without effort or complaint. His witty sense of humor kept everyone on their toes and in stitches. He couldn’t do enough for us. Thanks for a great stay!

We arrived around noon with some friends who are also staying at the OCI, and meet the innkeeper. He explains that one room is ready, but the other one won’t be ready for another hour…“because people are still in the room… one of those by-the-hour-deals…a local doctor and his lady friend… he’s a regular… they should be done soon.” Luckily that wasn’t MY room, but my friends were less than thrilled to know about the shagging happening in their bed. Why was it necessary to fill us in??? The place was also pretty grimey. Granted, it was cheap and in a good location, but it could definitely use some detailing. But, I don’t think there was anywhere else to stay in Manchester by the Sea. Oh, the kicker was when we came down for *breakfast*(bag o’ english muffins, oj, coffee) and the inkeeper says, «you bastards are finally up!» I guess they call that Massachusetts Charm. So, if you’re driving up the MA coast and need to pull over for a quickie, this will do. Otherwise, check out the town of Rockport, just north of MBTS. There seem to be several cute places there.

just got back from my friends’ wedding in manchester-by-the-sea, ma, and was lucky enough to get a room here as it was closest to the wedding site. my friend and i shared room #8, which doubles as an emergency exit but has 2 rooms with 2 double beds, and you can lock one room but not the other since it’s the emergency-exit room. so yah, this place was a little funky, you can tell it’s an old old house, one of those kinds w/the long front porch, hardwood floors, high ceilings, original mouldings, but i thought it needed a little more love. things just needed to be touched up a little, wouldn’t take long, but would improve the quality and feel of the inn immensely, i.e., replace mirrors with new ones so i can see myself, put the drawer pull back on the chest of drawers(after all, all the hardware IS laying in the drawer), spackle up the cracks in the ceilings and walls, touch up the paint, get a new toilet roll holder that actually holds the roll, stitch up that big hole in my bed quilt, ya know, stuff like that. this old house deserves to be treated well, with respect! this place would be so much quainter if they would just fix it up a bit, update a few things… also there isn’t really any other place to stay in manchester, the town itself is VERY richy, hoity, so you’d think that this place would be a little bit more shiny… but alas, i still give it 4 stars due to proximity to town, the beach, the wedding i went to, for the proprieter michael(just ring the front door, anytime of day/night and he’s there for you with a smile), continental breakfast, great front porch on which to have a meal or sip wne, the price($ 90 a night for a 2 room/BR down the hall) and a lovely sitting room to chill in. our room did not have a bathroom(we were going on the cheap) but it was right outside our door in the hallway, and even though the inn was full due to the wedding, i never had to wait for the shower/toilet. and some of their rooms have full baths and fireplaces.
