I had a great experience with then when they installed my mini split AC units. I got 4 quotes they were not the cheapest but I really liked the sales associate. They were willing to work with me on the price and made it affordable. They also did all the paperwork to get me the state rebates. I have also had them one work on my furnace a few times when it was not working. They are always fair and fast.

Update: The president of the company called this morning, very apologetic, and reassured me that they do not want their salesman to use high-​pressure tactics. I felt like he heard my concerns and took them seriously. I was impressed with this attention to detail.

Our heat stopped working last night just as we were settling in on the couch for a few shows. I panicked and called a couple different HVAC companies. Nutmeg got back to me right away and by the time they did I talked myself out of the need to have someone come out that night. We made it through the night and a Nutmeg tech was at our house in the morning. He replaced a malfunctioning part and now our house is warm and toasty. The customer service was fantastic, the price was fair and the technician was knowledgeable. He took the time to answer my questions about maintenance and possible replacement of our boiler. I will definitely call them in the spring when our AC units need servicing.

Made it through the winter with absolutely no issues and a nice warm house!

This company is the worst. I’m surprised they’re still in business. I’ve talked to people with similar experience. They came out to my house at least 10 times until I finally gave up and called another company (they fixed it the first visit).
I felt nutmegs mechanics were more trained on milking you for money, then actually working on their craft. Do yourself a favor and call another company. Good luck.

I found Nutmeg on the internet because we had no air conditioning during a terribly uncomfortable heat wave with very high humidity. One of the things someone else told me to troubleshoot was the air filter and I called Nutmeg with a technical question about air filters. The dispatcher transferred me to one of the owners who answered my questions about filters in detail. It turned out the filter was not our problem and I called Sears with whom we had a service contract to come repair our system. Sears told us that for our area, they use sub-​contractors and we needed to wait 24 – 48 hours to hear back from someone about a potential appointment. We called after 24 hours, after 48 hours and even later and no one called. In the meantime, I called several people including the people who installed our central air 8 – 9 years ago.
Still sweltering and spending evenings in our basement with dehumidifiers to get some relief, I called back Nutmeg and again spoke to the owner who had answered my questions about filters. The weekend was approaching and we were suffering without knowing if, and when, Sears would come.
Henry, the owner, empathized with us and literally within about 2– 2 ¼ hours after my call for help, Jim, a technician who has been with Nutmeg 9 years, was at our house and fixed our a/​c which only required a capacitor to be replaced.
I was so happy and impressed with the personalized service that I called up Sears, canceled my A/​C maintenance agreement with them and signed up with Nutmeg for a 1 year maintenance agreement. for about the same price as Sears.
It may sound silly to emphasize the point but having a/​c after being without it for a few days is a huge relief.

I started out skeptical after seeing only two reviews (one 5 and one 1 star). Decided to call anyway. Discussed AC issues with owner and he gave me a couple good ideas to try since I told him I was a DIY guy. No dice. I called next day at 8:09AM and even though he was very busy (start of the heat and humidity), he said he would have Sr tech over in 15 min. Came on time. Polite. Quickly diagnosed wiring problem (my bad from furnace repair). Fixed! I asked if he would pressure test AC to make sure R22 level still good. Done. I would call them again.

Friday night when me and the girlfriend got home the house was freezing. The thermostat was set at 68º however the house was 55º. Obviously something was wrong, so I went downstairs to the basement and heard the furnace going, and the duct work coming out of it was hot, yet the house wasn’t. Clearly this meant something was wrong with the blower, and the house was only going to be getting, since it was in the 20s outside.
Before heading to the theater for some volunteer work I was doing that night, I looked around online to try and find someone to fix the heat. Everyone I called either did oil heat, didn’t do forced air, or only does weekend calls for people they have a contract with. This was very frustrating, but since I was heading to the theater anyway I thought I would ask around there. Again everyone I asked either used someone with oil heat, or wouldn’t do weekend calls.
Finally just before leaving and about to give up hope I asked one last person, who turns out had gas heat, and had someone to recommend. I called them and they couldn’t have been nicer. They were there in 20 minutes, stayed for 2.5 hours and replaced my motor. They only charged me $ 450 bucks for the new motor, emergency call fee, and 2 hours labor. I thought this wasn’t horrible since it was in fact a Friday night.
I might have lucked out a bit because my furnace took a standard size motor that the guy had in his truck, but either way, I was expecting it to be more expensive, so I was very happy with how everything turned out!
