Specialties
Murphy’s Taproom offers 120 draft beers, the widest draft selection in New Hampshire. From local brews such as Able Ebenezer, 603, and Henniker Brewing, to nationally-renowned micros Founders from Michigan and North Coast from California, if you enjoy and appreciate beer, you will be impressed by your options here.
We also offer a great selection of pub food, from nachos to burgers to steak tips to shepherd’s pie. Gluten-free? No problem, we can make our wraps, sandwiches, and pizzas gluten-free upon request, and we offer several gluten-free beers to wash it down.
There is no better spot to watch the game than Murphy’s. With twelve HDTVs and two HD projectors, and always a great special, you will be sure to find a good view at a great price.
Our seasonal patio is one of the largest in the state, and during the summer we have live music outside seven days a week. We make it a point to never charge a cover to get in. We believe you shouldn’t have to pay for the privilege of entering a restaurant or bar.
We are an affordable option for casual functions, including reunions, showers, and company parties. Just call and ask for Kirsten!
History
Established in 2007.
The owner of next-door Murphy’s Diner, Keith Murphy, got started in the restaurant industry as a dishwasher and busboy in Baltimore, Maryland. As he went first to college and then graduate school, Keith tried many other fields. From banking to legislative work, from the electrical trade to city planning, Keith found none of them were as interesting, challenging, or exciting as the restaurant business.
In 2007, with two decades of industry experience under his belt and having decided that city planning wasn’t the right field for him, Keith decided to take the plunge and lease the defunct Omega Nightclub at 494 Elm Street in Manchester. In the years since, the business has expanded three times and tripled in capacity, to become one of Manchester’s largest venues.
Meet the Business Owner
Keith M.
Business Owner
Keith Murphy started as a gas station attendant and counter help in a small Pennsylvania town while still in middle school. Moving to North Baltimore in 1992, he got a job bussing tables and washing dishes. While attending college, he waited tables and tended bar.
After college he worked a variety of jobs outside the industry, from banking to the electrical trade to government work, but he always came back to the restaurant industry. After obtaining a master’s in city planning, he dipped his toe in that field and realized that nothing would be as challenging, exciting, or fulfilling as opening his own restaurant. After working several years as a restaurant manager, Murphy’s Taproom, next door to Murphy’s Diner, opened in 2007. Both the Taproom and Diner have met with success, thanks to hard work, a great staff, and loyal regular customers.
Keith is also a state representative. He lives in Bedford, NH with his wife Kelleigh and their three children.
