First time trying out this place. Have driven by so many times but never really stopped since parking lot always looked empty. We order the Asian lunch bento box, beef negemaki and Tom yom soup. All were excellent. Tom yum soup had nice, spicy taste but wasn’t overwhelming. Beef negemaki was also done well but would have preferred less sauce than it came with. The chicken and broccoli bento box came with miso soup, Thai spring rolls, California roll and rice. All looked and tasted good. The place was quiet with only few customers so our food came quickly. The service was attentive. Overall good experience. Will have to come back for sushi as the menu offers fusion of Chinese, Japanese and Thai, which is great if everyone doesn’t want sushi.

Tough call on this one. Not being from the area, my boyfriend and I have been trusting Unilocal reviews for local restaurants and what a disappointment this was. We walked in and there was only one other customer in the restaurant, a waitress, sushi chef, and a child that was watching cartoons. We were seated but no one came to get our drink order til I flagged the waitress down. Gooood thing to know about this place is they do not serve alcohol. I was hoping to at least get a drink to ignore the fact that we would be listening to cartoons the entire time we spent there. But instead we picked at a couple rolls, that could have easily passed as store bought sushi. Then again I had to flag down the waitress to get our check.

it tasted extremely fishy and was a disappointment. Saw great reviews on Unilocal. did not come close to expectations. Bleh!

OK, so we are back on the Miku Asian Bistro and Sushi Bar train! And what a tasty ride it is! I try to order new and old so I can both play it safe and take chances! Miku has yet to disappoint on the freshness and most excellent taste of their dishes. The owners take pride in the food and it shows, the orders are done quickly, but with care and you do get quite a lot of food for the price. There is a lot to choose from, but I like the idea of sushi, so that is what I have been eating as of late. Today I ordered a Philly roll, excellent and the salmon was just right. Safe bet for me! I add lots of the fresh Wasabi to each roll, and I practically sneeze my way through eating this roll! Then the Unicorn roll, the tuna on top, fresh tuna, lightly spicy(I think next time I would ask for more spice) very delicate. On my first piece I had some soy sauce, but I found that the soy sauce hid the potential flavor of the roll… piece two until I finished i had straight up, and it was fantastic. My wife is now a life long Kani salad addict! It is a great salad to start the meal, the crab and the dressing blend so well and the fresh greens, what is not to like? She also loves the Pink Lady roll, and it did not disappoint… I think my wife eats more rice in a month here than she does all year at home! Ok, to finish off the lunch I had the incredible Grand Canyon Roll… Do yourself a favor GOFORIT! It is so good, it is all I am thinking about right now, as good as everything else was… and I am full. The scallions and the special sauce are fantastic and mingle so well. The tuna, on top was fresh and delicate, you know they have confidence in their product when you are given a roll like this. It really stands on its own. Go here, you will really love it.

LOVE! We hadn’t been here in awhile and I’m sure glad that we were in the mood for sushi and went back! Ordered Kani Salad, Pink Lady Roll, Yaki Tori, and Maki Combo Roll. All were Excellent! FRESH, delicious, and made in a very timely manner. The employees were super nice, friendly, courteous. We felt welcome right away. The food was even better than we remembered it being before. Our new fav. place! Really, you have to look past the outside, it’s not much to look at. But take a chance — it is worth it!

So… We went on a Friday night around 6:30pm and was a little scared when we pulled up since there was only 2 cars in the lot. When we opened the door and went into the host area, there was a guy on a cellphone sitting there but no host to be found. After looking around for a minute, the guy that was sitting went around back and started getting menus for us. We had no clue he worked there and thought it was strange. When we got seated, the dining room décor was horrendous. The walls were dirty and looked like food was thrown on them. Dining area was small and it didn’t look like they spent any money on the ambiance. We were a little confused at the menu because it didn’t have pricing on it but we ordered 5 rolls that looked good. At this point, we were a little worried about the food we ordered. When the food came out, it actually looked and tasted good. We had a tuna spicy roll, spicy crab roll, California roll, Yummy roll and White Tiger roll. When the bill came, we had figured out that they charged us for the all-you-can-eat price which we had no idea about. It was pricey since we only ordered rolls and nothing else. Service was good. A little part of me was still worried we might get food poisoning but I was convinced my fellow Unilocalers would have warned me. To my relief, I feel fine after a few hours. I wish I knew why this place was rated so highly on Unilocal.I found the food good but there were too many other things that made a bad impression that I can’t give more than 2 stars.

I would definitely recommend the crabmeat salad, pork Katsu. The make to order buffet is 19.99 which is worth every penny.

Generally, we like Miku. It’s pretty quiet there most nights so you always get a really attentive server. The food is pretty fresh. I assume that they do most of their business via delivery and take out because they’ve been open for years, but I’ve never seen more than 3 cars parked there or more than 5 patrons other than us. We really like the buffet style sushi which always ends with regrets about eating way too much. But it’s so easy to check another box! The buffet is a great price for your late afternoon/early evening sushi dining desires. The sushi always comes out looking great and tasting good. We like to go here when we don’t feel like dealing with other diners.

I didn’t know miku had made to order buffet like sushi house in Rocky hill! If I knew I wouldn’t go that far since this place is much closer to my house! I’m on the fence between 3 to 4 stars. They have sushi buffet Sunday –Wednesday’s for $ 19.95. We called in before going and they said they offered buffet that day on Saturday so we went! Price: average. $ 19.95 is pretty standard price for sushi buffet Time: I normally have to wait to be seated at sushi house whereas for miku, we got seated right away! At regular 6 on dinner time on Saturday. Service: hey seemed like they lacked waitress/waiters. There were only 2 staff there and then a total of 4 by 7 pm. Their daughter who seems no more than 6 years old were helping out! Very cute as she asked for water/napkins etc but I felt a little uneasy with a girl trying to help out even though she seemed happy. Definitely a sign that it’s a small family business. However the lady wad doing her best running around waiting on all tables, and most customers can see that she’s trying and were accommodating. Atmosphere: The environment definitely doesn’t feel as cozy in terms of their restaurant atmosphere. The tables, settle, and decorations are not comparable to sushi house. With that said, this place seems less well known/popular. Their disposable sushi buffet menu where you mark your order is printed from the computer with fainted ink toner, not a typical nicey printed one. Not sure if they ran out of this is always the case. Pros: distance, quick seating, price/quality. Con: slow sushi prep time, atmosphere. If you’re going on a date or special occasion, sushi house. If you want he same thing on a casual dine out with friends or family, miku will do.

I am really on board this Miku train, having been several times over the past few weeks to both dine and and take out. Manchester isn’t short on sushi options, thats for sure. However, Miku is one of the larger sushi restaurants in the area, which is great if you really want to talk to your date without being elbow to elbow with other guests. It is not a fancy pants place, but rather cozy and low key, which is awesome. I love their AAC(asparagus, avocado, cucumber), sweet potato, and avocado cucumber rolls. My regular sushi partner in crime also loves their spicy tuna and Philadelphia rolls. I think one of the things I love most is how Miku is run by a single family, all of whom are efficient and attentive. The server is the same super nice lady every time, and she is so conscientious of not interrupting a conversation, while also remaining attentive. She’s the greatest. The sushi chef is always exceptionally busy, even when the restaurant is pretty empty, which leads me to believe their delivery option is well taken advantage of in Manchester. If you live in the area, like family run businesses, and supporting local, awesome sushi, swing by Miku for sure!

At first I was a bit unimpressed albeit as the night drew on my feelings were altered. They were understaffed, drink order came a bit late but after that the sake flowed like the salmon of Capistrano. The sushi was large and packed very tightly. I highly recommend the monster roll, but anything shrimp tempura just wets my whistle wild as it should yours. They offer an all you can eat for $ 19.95 sushi deal which will make your mercury meter rise exponentially but honestly, who’s counting right? HAHAHAHAHAHAJAJAHAJ! I will be back olé Miku! I was admittedly skeptical to try Miku for the first time because sushi is one food that I am somewhat picky about so it’s hard to get me to branch out from my usual spots. The restaurant generally appears to be empty but it is so close to home that I couldn’t help but give it a try. It turns out that they do a lot of take-out and delivery, so this explains the lack of cars. I went there for the all-you-can-eat option. Like some of the other all-you-can-eat sushi options in the area, this is not a buffet. The table is given a paper menu and everyone checks off what they want, which is then made to order. Just note that in order to get the all-you-can-eat option, everyone at the table needs to get it. I went with a group of four but we probably ate enough sushi for 8 – 10 people. I was so full when I left that I didn’t eat again until the next night’s dinner when I had a small salad. We tried at least half of the sushi rolls on the menu, and I think we tried all of the specialty rolls. I don’t remember any that I didn’t like. I’m not going to say that they were all outstanding, but some were, and all of them were great quality for an all-you-can-eat place. We were there for one our friend’s birthdays, so at the end of the night we had to celebrate with birthday sake bombs. We were a little worried that we would be given a hard time, but to our surprise the waitress was all for it! It was a great way to cap off the evening, but it also taught me that I need to learn how to set up a sake bomb better. My sake fell into the Sapporo well before we finished singing Happy Birthday. Overall it was a great night, and given the value and the distance I will definitely be coming back.

I am torn between a 3 and a 4 [why doesn’t Unilocal offer the ½ star option :(], but I have finally made up my mind to give it a 3 since the food was pretty much on par with other japanese restaurants in the area. The service was a plus. I accidentally spilled my tea twice and the waitress was polite and patient.(Ah, I was clumsy that day after shooting at Halls Arrows) They didn’t have Ika sushi that night, My friend was upset about it because it was one of the most fundamental sushi in our opinion. My sashimi and my fried rice was pretty fresh and my friend’s pad thai was okay. I might give it another try later.

I have come here multiple times for the all you can eat sushi. It is wonderful for $ 20 we eat very decent food and they are always so polite. They are attentive and often very quiet during the week so it is the perfect place to wind down.

I have always trusted my fellow Unilocalers and their restaurant reviews during my travels, but this time either my experience was an exception or the locals have lesser expectations for quality sushi. First off, let’s talk about the décor. Was it horrible? No, but from all the talk about the major renovations and how nice they were it leaves me wondering what this place looked like before. The service was attentive, BUT, to be honest I was pretty much the only one there at 6:15 on a Tuesday. Maybe that should have told me something. Then there was the food. I went on all you could eat night so I got a good cross selection of their fare. Ultimately it was all mediocre at best with most items not even reaching that high standard. If only I could go back and make a different selection for my nightly meal because this one left a lot to be desired.

I couldn’t wait to come home to write this review! It was so delicious, but SO empty. People, come here please! One group was here for the first five minutes I was here with my husband, and another group came the last five minutes I was there. The place was really nicely decorated inside and plenty of parking outside. It was really clean and modern. The service was very good, though some may be bothered since the waitress did hover a bit. We were the only ones there for the most part, and I think she just wanted to make sure she was attentive. I didn’t feel rushed at all. I came here tonight for their all-you-can-eat special which is held Sunday through Wednesday for $ 19.95. It is — by far — the best unlimited sushi I’ve had so far(see Min Ghung, Sushi House, Misaki reviews). It is arranged like Sushi House and Min Ghung, where you select the items and they are made per order. They had a great selection for their unlimited special, unlike Min Ghung, yet they kept up excellent quality. They offered sashimi too which was delicious. I got the white tuna, salmon, and eel. It was all melt-in-your-mouth goodness, a similar quality to Min Ghung’s. The only negative comment I have to say about this whole experience is that I found one small bone in both my eel sashimi and salmon sashimi. I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt and believe that the sashimi is so fresh they must filet it themselves, and just need some work. They also have great special rolls. The pink lady roll was my favorite. The snow mountain roll was very good too. I also tried their wonton soup, seaweed salad, green salad, and gyoza. They were all good, though the gyoza wasn’t much better than the frozen kind I get and make at home. I also didn’t like that the seaweed salad was served on a bed of lettuce. Oh well, I just got another one! Their red bean ice cream was also delicious. They had vanilla and green tea ice cream too. They also had fried rice, lo mein, teriyaki, katsu, edamame, and fried spring roll on their unlimited menu. Hot green tea is free. They do delivery. Looking at their menu, they do appear to be a little expensive for the size of their rolls. But really, it is so good. If you don’t believe me, just come once for their unlimited sushi to see how you like it!

Sushi is great. The parking lot was empty but I couldn’t believe the inside. Very contemporary and clean. Had the Shumai appetizer, was very good. Service was very quick and the server was so friendly. This is definitely one of the best sushi restaurants in the area. Had the shrimp tempura, volcano, and spicy yellow tail rolls. All were delicious.

Ordered the«crazy salmon roll»… Meh. Honestly have had way better sushi… And for $ 11.95 for the roll. Complete rip off. Pretty sure I’m paying for the name«bistro» in the title. It was fresh. Actually ordered delivery. Got here within 45 minutes of which is a win in my book. Gunna shoot myself in the foot here… But ginger root in east Hartford wins the food battle as far as I’m concerned. In this case complete opposite of finer root. Great fast friendly service… But not so fantastic yet expensive food.

I love this place! Sushi is great and the appetizers, gyoza and Szechuan wontons are delicious! The wontons are may in-house and you can taste the difference. We like Miku so much that we ask them to deliver these appetizers for our wedding cocktail hour and they were devoured! Other things I like about Miku is the staff, always friendly and accommodating. My husband is very particular about his food and he always asked for modification in his food and they are always very accommodating with his request. This really a little gem in Manchester!

First off the service was great. We came right at 5 so the place was still pretty empty(more people came as we were leaving) and the waitress was very attentive and friendly. As you can tell from the pictures, the restaurant is cute with fun colored lights etc. From the outside it looks a little dingy(the parking lot is a little beat up) but inside it’s nice and comfortable. The issue that I had with the food was the crunchies. This is the second place I’ve been to in Connecticut where the«spicy tuna» was actually«crunchy spicy tuna»(and really more crunchy than tuna…). I don’t know if it’s an economy thing, but it felt like I was eating a lot of filler. The pink lady I ordered had spicy salmon and that interestingly didn’t have any crunchies, and I tried some of my boyfriends rolls and his was delicious, so I think the problem I had was just based on my order. Overall I would definitely go back and just order differently.
