Great little Indian supermarket with tons of spices, prepared sauces, ingredients, frozen and packaged meals and other direct-from-India imports. The Chaat Corner is a deli-like counter near the back of the store. The menu is relatively limited and all vegetarian, but everything we ordered was tasty and put together with meticulous care.(Which also meant it took a while.) The samosa chaat was the best item I tried from the menu — nicely spiced filling with tangy yogurt and sweet chutney made for a satisfying burst of flavor. The most disappointing detail was that the«bread» included with the dal patty was an industrial hamburger bun — why not naan? It’s probably better to eat at one of the tables available, we did take-out and the containers were a little fragile and the food best eaten when hot. An authentic purveyor for when you have a hankering for Indian snacks.

This place is amazing — I had the best samosa chaat that I’ve tasted since visiting India. I’m a huge fan of Indian food. Although I only tried one dish from this place, the samosa chaat exploded my brain in technicolor waves of glorious spicy complexity. My molecules were rearranged. This is easily among the best Indian food I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot of it. Five stars almost seems too few. Check the hours before you make the trip, because I think it’s only open weekends or something.

This little takeout place is located in the back of the East West Indian grocery store. They serve various types of chaat, which is a type street food that is very popular throughout India. I have been to a few chaat places but only in larger cities, so Manchester is lucky to have a place like this! It is run by a very sweet woman who obviously puts lots of effort and pride into making her food. The Bhel Puri and Samosa Chaat are some of my favorites. I believe they are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The service is definitely a little slow, but that’s to be expected with only one person preparing the food. Give it a try!
