Wonderful orchard and farm market. Apple cider donuts were the best after trying others. Homemade apple cider. Pastries and deserts. Pumpkins of all kinds. Fresh grown veggies and apples. Cute place that has pick your own apples and pumpkins. Good coffee and hot cider. Not too big, so not a whole day activity, but a nice stop, especially in the Fall.

My weekly trip to my camp is never complete without a visit to this wonderful orchard on the way. In the summertime, it is stocked with fresh grown fruits and veggies– the strawberries can’t be beat. You can also get organic eggs, a variety of cheeses, my personal favorite, Smiling Hill milk(yummy), and fresh baked goodies, like turnovers and pies, the blueberry, is number one for my son. And my other son’s favorite goody is the homemade«salt and vinegah» pretzels. On your way to Readfield, Mt. Vernon, or Fayette, don’t miss this homegrown treat!

I was really excited to be living down the road from an orchard. Fingers crossed we went into the store today. I was not disappointed. For $ 20 we got, two pounds of apples, two huge turnovers, a bag of cider donuts, one gallon of cider, some crazy chocolate wine, and local cheese. Being as cheap as I am, I couldn’t have been happier. The woman running the shop were delightful and also gave us some warm blueberry coffee cake to try. To be absolutely frank, I am surprised we left the shop without buying the entire pastry case. We will be going back, if for nothing but the phenomenal apples and to test my will power against pastry.
