The Manchester store is small and only carries a limited selection of products compared to the flagship Melrose MA store. I called on Friday to check on the availability of one camera model and was assured it was in stock. I was delayed and unable to go to the store until Sunday by which time the camera model was out of stock. I mentioned to sales person I had called ahead. He duly informed me it was the customer’s responsibility to «place a hold» on camera model they were interested in when they called.(The blame the customer sales pitch.) They never mentioned that when I called. The sales person did offer to sell me a defective unit which was just returned. I was not sure if he was serious or trying to be funny. While I was at the store I looked at three different camera models. Two of them were out of stock except for the display models. One of the display models had a dead battery. Overall the customer service experience at this store was very disappointing. I complained to the store owner Gary Farber about my experience and the inventory problems at the Manchester store. He confirmed that it was Hunt’s policy to maintain low inventory levels at the satellite stores based upon past sales figures. As a small business myself, I have learned that having products«out-of-stock» is fast way to lose sales and to lose customers. The only positive thing I can say about the Manchester store was the sale staff were very knowledgeable about the cameras. I recommend skipping the Manchester store and going to the Melrose Mass. store.

This is what the first time into a camera store should be like! I even had my toddler with me who was happily distracted by their train set table for him to play with. I was greeted by Harper H. who was able to answer all my questions confidently which allowed me to feel comfortable purchasing my first«real» amateur/pro camera. After doing extensive research, and getting a hands on feel for the camera, I ended up purchasing the canon EOSM3 with lens kit. I love it! They even matched the manufacturer rebate of 200 $ bringing it down to 599 $. Overall fantastic experience! They have earned all of my future camera/lens purchases in the future.

I love photography, and I absolutely love this store. Anytime I’m over this way in Manchester, I make sure I stop at Hunt’s, even if it’s just to look around. They seriously have it all! Cameras, lenses, filters, lighting kits, tripods, film, bags, and much more. I’m never disappointed with their selection of items. The service has been very friendly and informative. They’ve answered all of my questions, and helped me make purchases that I was thrilled with. I was looking for a general purpose zoom lens earlier this year to upgrade to, since my old kit lens just doesn’t really do it for me anymore. One in particular caught my eye, and the gentleman behind the counter was kind enough to actually put it on a camera for me and let me take pictures with it in the store. I fell in love with the lens and bought it. This store is truly a photographers paradise.

My husband and I made a planned trip to Hunt’s on our way up to Canada and Maine. Being in our 30’s we decided it was finally time to buy a «grown-up camera». Eric Arnold, the store manager, helped us and he was FANTASTIC! He was down to earth, didn’t try and upsell us anything, and was very honest about what would be a good beginner camera for us. We wound up buying the Nikon D3300. We had about 6 days left on our vacation when we bought this camera and we couldn’t be more pleased with the photos we got. Now granted, we still need to learn all the features of this camera, but with the short, quick lesson Eric gave us we were able to take great pictures!!! We live in California and we will definitely be contacting Hunt’s again in the future for any accessories we will be needing! Thanks again Eric! Eric & Lisa

Just went to this location a few days ago after I impulsively decided to upgrade my camera after 3 years. I had done all my research before and basically walked in and said«I’m here for a 6D», and Eric, who helped me the entire time, was a fantastic salesman. They price-match, so I double checked I was paying what B&H was offering, it was priced the same anyways. I ended up leaving with the 6D kit, protection plan, filters, an SD card, hotshoe adapters for my studio lights(which Eric threw in two for the price of one because he said they were kinda finicky), and I got talked into also picking up the Pixma photo printer with a mail in rebate. Extremely happy with my purchase and how the transaction was handled. I shop for what I want and I’ve had many cases where people try to pull one over my head but this was nothing of the sort. Definitely felt like a respected customer and not an idiot, and that’s all I could ever want. Hands down my best Hunts experience ever.

I was tempted to buy a new Nikon from B&H however, I couldn’t wait for shipping over the weekend, so I called to see if they had a Nikon D750 kit in stock. Luckily they had one kit left, and they willingly put it on hold for me. When I got to the store with 30 mins to close, they were busy. Nonetheless, the 3 staff working were very polite and explained that they would be with me shortly. Once helped, the sales person was knowledgable and reaffirmed my choice of camera. He even stated that the Owner bought 3 of these camera for himself because it is so good. I completed my purchase after he answered some of my annoyingly naïve questions(Previously a Canon guy). My only regret is that I didn’t get all the freebies that B&H offered.

I’ve been a customer here for a couple years. I love Hunt’s! Everyone is friendly and they always carry everything you need. Just wish things were a little cheaper since items are definitely more pricey than what you can find on B&H. But for small things or last minute needs I always go to Hunt’s.
