I tell people that I am on a low karma diet, and they think I’m kidding, but I’m not. I like to eat meat, but the more I learn about modern industrial methods of livestock handling, the less I can eat. I will not eat meat from an animal, for example, that has never seen the sun.
The ideal way to buy meat, which I have wished for for quite a few years, is to find a place that raises animals just like people did about 100 years ago. You know? Sunlight, cattle walking around in big fields of grass. Remember that?
I also care about the organic aspect, but my idea for a low karma diet is kind of like it’s organic food for the soul.
Well, Clover Dolce Farms is exactly what I was wishing for. I couldn’t believe it when I visited there to pick up an order. This is as good as it gets. These cattle have the best lives that cattle can have. Rolling hills, big green fields, trees, ponds, good land.
We have tried both the pork and the beef now, and we could not be happier with it. I really can taste the difference in freshness, healthiness — and karma. Also, I’m very happy with the packaging! Very sturdy plastic, well labeled — and the packages have my name on them! «processed for Michael Goulish”– wow. And they appear to have been quick-​frozen somehow.
I just picked up 25 pounds of pork, and a quarter-​beef. I’m planning to get as much as possible of my beef and pork from this place, from now on.
