Ace Taxi Service

i called a cab for a medical emergency. When we arrived at the hospital, the machine was not working — I tried 2 different credit and one debit card. There was no ATM in the hospital and the driver refused to either wait or bill me. He drove me to an ATM WHILE I WAS BLEEDING to get paid!

My car broke down leaving me stranded with my two kids on the side of a busy road. I goggled a local company and the first one to pop up was Ace Taxi so I decided to give them a try. When I called the man who answered was very polite, told me it would be within 30 minutes, and the driver would give me a call if he or she had any problems finding me. It was rush hour so I figured it would be at least a half hour before they would show up. I was shocked when my cab arrived in 22 minutes. The driver was very helpful and understanding when it took me a few minutes to get all my stuff out of my car and secure my kids in the taxi. I would recommend this company to everyone. I have used Über before a few times but the drivers are rude, don’t call when they arrive, and one driver was just creepy the entire ride. I’ve also tried Yellow Cab before and they either take forever to arrive or don’t show up at all. When I got to my destination I realized my son had left his favorite stuffed animal in the cab so I called Ace, explained the situation as my son screamed in the background, and the lady I spoke with was sympathetic to my situation and sent the driver back to me after he completed the job he was on. I will never use another company again and would recommend Ace to anyone who is looking for dependable, affordable, and great service. I understand that due to weather, traffic, and high call volume cabs can take anywhere from 10 – 60 minutes to arrive but they are definitely worth waiting for.

Surprised that so many reviews have been bad, but a number of them were from 2012 – 2014. I just used them to get from my hotel to the airport, and while they were there at 20 minutes when they said 15, I found the driver was great, very courteous and professional. Ask for Axel, he’s great.

Every driver I’ve had on my visit has been nothing but friendly and social able. Aside from one, but we have driven in many of their taxis and they all have been very helpful and not just out to get you for your money. Wayyyyyy better than yellow cab taxi. Give them a chance! Decent rates and cool people!

I didn’t even want to give this company 1 star. I called 2 hours ahead for a taxi to take me from downtown Hartford to the airport at 4pm. At 4:10, I hadn’t heard anything so I called — they said the driver would be to me in 2 minutes. Okay, great… I won’t miss my flight.
4:20 rolls around and I call again. The can driver is only 1 minute away now… Hmmmm
4:25, I finally see the car — hallelujah! But… It drives right past my screaming and waving arms.
4:27, I get a phone call from the driver saying that she can’t find it, and I tell her that I was waving and screaming at her. We response? «Sorry, I wasn’t paying attention because I was on my phone.» Wait… What?
4:30, I get picked up. It’s POURING down rain. I have a heavy suitcase (I am moving out of state so it’s heavier than usual). My driver rolls down her window and says «you need the trunk?». I reply yes… Praying that she would get out and help me put my suitcase in the trunk in the pouring rain… But no. She doesn’t. I even asked her if they don’t help in this company and she ignored me.
I am now in the back of the car sitting in unbelievable traffic that would not be a problem had she arrived at 4:00 like I simply asked.
I swear… I better not miss my flight.
Moral of the story: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY if you want to get anywhere on time, or if you expect good service, or if you want help getting yourself in and out of the car.

THEY NEVER SHOW UP EVEN CLOSE TO ON TIME! These sons of… never showed up when they said they would to take my 80 year old Mom to a doctor appointment.
She called the day before and asked for a pickup 30 minutes prior to her appointment in case they were running late. They assured her that they had 41 drivers. Ha! She called an hour before pickup to remind them. They arrived 30 minutes AFTER her appointment time (she called to warn the Dr. office that she’d be late). Then they assured her they would return at 4:00pm to pick her up and drive her home.
THEY NEVER SHOWED UP! The Drs office closed at 5:30pm and a daughter who was driving her Mother home from the same office offered to drive Mom home.
THIS IS THE WORST TAXI COMPANY IN ENFIELD.
HAD I READ THEIR REVIEWS BEFOREHAND I WOULD HAVE WARNED MOM! Unbelievable. I try to get down from Boston to take her, but I couldn’t this day.
Shame on them.

Terrible cab ride. I would never recommend this company to anyone.
Needed a cab in Hartford and an Ace taxi just happened to stop when my friend and I tried to hail one, so I can’t say much for the customer service as far as calling them in advance, but the ride was terrible.
Once we got in the car, the driver’s GPS system kept turning off and wouldn’t work. I understand that things happen and technology fails us sometimes, so I tried to help by clarifying my destination (mentioned that it was on the same street as a major college in the area) and asking if he wanted me to use the GPS on my phone and tell him where to go, but he insisted he knew the way. Turns out he didn’t, and he went past my destination’s exit on the highway and might have even kept going if I didn’t tell him to please take the next exit. And yes, I had to pay for the extra distance due to HIS mistake.
To make matters worse, the guy pulled out his phone and was texting while driving, which caused him to weave and cross the center line of the road a little. And then we were met with very audible disappointed/​«tisk tisk» noises when we selected the «none» option on the «Tip?» screen while paying for our ride by card. We selected «none» because we planned to tip in cash, but the whole ride was so terrible and unsafe that I was tempted to not tip at all.

No surprise they have a 1 star rating. I would give them 0 if possible. I called a week prior to a medical procedure to get a rate estimate and was told I can call the weekend before to confirm. My procedure was on Monday & I called Saturday to confirm the trip to and from. I was given confirmation numbers. I told the dispatcher 3 times the return was 12pm, noon. He kept saying midnight. Anyway, Monday comes and 1 hour before the pick up time I get a call saying they don’t service my area! So weak! I was able to get a ride from executive so all was fine. Then at 8:30 that night, ACE calls to say they can’t pick me up for my «midnight» because they don’t service my area… LOL!!! Lay off the crack ACE.

Awful service — called them two times for a ride. I was told 30 minutes both times and 1.5 hours later they never showed up. Never again!
The one time earlier in the night that they did show up, the driver lied and said his credit card wasn’t working and could only take cash. I don’t believe it for a second.
