I’m probably a bit out of range of the target audience for WEQX. But«Top 40» music where the DJs cater to screaming teenage girls and who play the same couple of dozen songs over and over is not of interest. If I want oldies, I’ll play music from my own collection. EQX plays music I typically won’t hear anyplace else(until I buy it, of course). The DJs treat their audience with as much respect and enthusiasm as they do the music. Also, with more alternative rock songs crossing over, there is a growing number of songs getting attention which I can claim I heard here first. The station has a pretty good range. I’ve picked it up from as far away as Nashua, NH. When I’m not in range, I use their mobile app so I can hear it anywhere I have coverage.

by far my favorite radio staion that is NOT an NPR station… that is right, this is a truly inde radio station that plays everything from phish adn the grateful dead to punk to rock, to classic rock… and whatever else they want to play because they are not corp hacks who churn out preprogrammed crud for the brainless multitudes… like everything else i love about my former home state, they think and act for themselves! listen to them live online like i do almost daily in the office at love to the indies!

Listening to EQX is very reminiscent for me. I listened to EQX morning and night throughout my teenage years – it was the best radio station broadcast in New Hampshire and Vermont at that time(and probably still is). They played awesome alternative rock music, had a variety of shows and also had great DJ’s. I was visiting home recently and while driving around town I listened to EQX; although it appears some DJ’s have gone and some shows are now nonexistent, the music EQX plays still rocks. But, I still miss some of my old standbys, like Mornings with Pete Powers and Donna Frank and the Live Lunch… ah, memories.
