When Dana Pizzola decided to start Master Event Planning just over a year ago, she went straight to the top for advice on how best to do it.

She started by reaching out to several celebrities who know a thing or two about how to throw an event and ended up on the phone with hip-​hop entrepreneur P. Diddy.

«He told me, ‘With your first event, you’ve got to go big or go home. Good luck,’» Pizzola said. «And that was it.»

The headstrong Manassas native took Diddy’s advice and developed Fashion Bomb, her first fashion show, to benefit the Manassas branch of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington. The show raised $ 400 for the organization.

«It was really amazing,» she said.

Pizzola’s signature event returns again this year to Fairfax’s Icons Sports Lounge and Grille at 6 p.m. Saturday. Half of the $ 10 admission price once again benefits Manassas’ Boys and Girls Club.
