KO Distilling

I paid KO Distilling a visit on a trip back east. Thoroughly enjoyed the tasting and the tour. I learned so much about distillation. I had no idea on how much effort is put into a bottle of Gin. Everyone there was real friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxed. I did both the tasting and the tour.

KO Distilling is a new distillery in the area. When you walk inside, you feel like you’re in someone’s home and not a distillery. The furniture is warm and inviting, the bar area has a homey feel, and there is plenty of natural light from the windows.
Currently KO Distilling makes their own gin and white whiskey. They offer tastings where you can try their spirits. The tasting is short (3 in total) but they take the time to explain what the spirits are and make suggestions of how to mix them. During our tasting, they offered mixers for us to try tonic water for the gin and ginger ale to mix with the white whiskey. I really liked their gin. It drinks smooth and is a good base for a gin a tonic.
They also offer tours for $ 6.00 each. The tours last 30 minutes and they take you through the process of making their spirits. They are also working on bourbon, but it will take awhile for them to sell it.
The staff was nice and answered all our questions. We met the «O» from the KO Distilling, Mr. and Mrs. O’Mara who did our tasting. You can tell they care about their product.
