Everyone was very nice unfortunately the workmanship is not. The spacing between the boards is erratic. Some boards have a 4 inch gap at the bottom. Called to have it corrected and as you can see in the photo attached they threw a patch on it by placing 2×4 on the ground in two areas. I would not recommend using them.

Armor Fence installed a small fence for me back in March and did a good job. They were courteous, responsive, and competent. Before ordering service, one should understand that Armor Fence is a contractor, not a retail establishment.
A retailer retains customers mainly through good service — the convenience of speed and a set location doesn’t work if you suck. A contractor, meanwhile, has an unlimited customer base, but serves customers primarily through versatility and customization. This distinction aggravates people accustomed to retail store customer service. Think of a contractor more like a farmer’s market, only instead of buying organic radishes, you’re buying pressure treated wood… which are equally appetizing.
With any contractor I recommend researching their procedures, costs, and references. Here are some handy tips for your own sanity:
1) Keep your expectations under control. Those amazing Pinterest pictures didn’t happen exactly according to plan. There will be setbacks, mistakes, some guy named Rufio will need to go to the hospital. Save extra money and, even better, plan for the project to take extra time. The long winter delayed Armor Fence two weeks. I had planned for this so no big deal.
2) Try and use only one of your personalities to speak with the installer. Like most humans, contractors have feelings and if you keep vacillating between Bambi’s mother and Chef Ramsey, they lose motivation. I did my best to be courteous and consistent with Armor.
3) Every time you change your mind, contractors lose theirs. Come prepared with pictures, written notes, and details beforehand, so they understand what you need. Be detailed or else you may end up with an 18″ stonehenge. But most of all, stick to the plan. If I tell you to draw a circle and then ask where are the corners when you show it to me, you’re going to be kind of perplexed.
Overall, Armor responded well and, once started, completed the project in the specified time for the specified amount. I plan to use them again.
Pros:
— Relatively inexpensive
— Quick installation time
— Friendly service
Cons:
— Some delays in response time
— Inconsistent schedule (nature of the business to be very busy or very slow)
— They upset Bob C. in June of 2014. How dare they.

As far as price and installation the company did a great job. I initially contacted them about a year prior to my installation for estimates and they were very responsive and friendly. Just under a year later I emailed my contact back and was surprised to find that there was very poor communication with the company. There were weeks that went by with no word if I was getting a fence or not. Finally, after several weeks, they told me they were coming out, and they did. After it was all installed I walked through my yard to find quite a bit of trash left behind by the installers. I would recommend the company again but I would stay on them to keep better communication.

These guys did a small fence for me on a townhome in in Springfield VA July of 2013 and did a great job for a great price. The guy I dealt with was Steve Whetsel, and he was a good guy. So I called them back to do another fence this year. We agreed on a price and a date, and I confirmed it several times over email. The date came and went, and no fence. I contact Steve to see what the deal was, and he said (via email, so there’s a record) that they were swamped and my fence would be done absolutely, without fail on 18 July 2014.
You guessed it. No fence, and no contact from Steve.
It’s really too bad. They did a good job the first time and they had guaranteed repeat business. Guess they have more work than they need. At this point, I don’t care what Steve’s promises or prices are. I’ll do the fence myself before I pay Armor to do it.

I listened to my husband lament (for almost two months) about the fact that it is so hard to find a good fence company in Northern Virginia.
Over and over he made calls and set up appointments to be:
a) not called back
b) told they couldn’t do what we wanted
or c) blown off completely by office staff that «couldn’t reach» their estimators.
He finally called Armor, set up an estimate, got a quote and BOOM – I got home from work yesterday and we have a brand new fence.
The fence is lovely, it’s exactly what we wanted and it was reasonably priced. I am very happy with the work, the product and the time frame.
We will definitely call Armor for this type of work in the future.

Do not bother.
These folks are a waste of time. They sent out a four color flyer. When I called it took 3 days to get a return call. Their salesman came out four days later, spent an hour taking measurements and despite two phone calls to him, never produced a bid. This was a $ 10,000 job. A call to the owner did not warrant a call back.
Stay away. Unreputable.

Used this company to install a privacy fence in my backyard. They were great! We set a date for the install and the day before it snowed. I didn’t expect them to show up the next day with a few inches of snow on the ground but they showed up anyway and installed the fence! They arrived about 9am and had finished and cleaned up everything by 12:30. The fence looks great! I am very happy with the work completed! I would def use this company again and I recommend them for use!

The estimator took 3 days to call me to set up the free estimate. He did arrive on time and seemed professional. Took 1 look at the backyard and began to up sell me on a stone/​brick patio. Then told me if I did the work without a permit (which is required!) it would be cheaper and could have all of the work done (replacement fence, replaced decking, new decking and porch replacement) all within 8 hours! Amazing! Never got the estimate from him or the company! Don’t bother with these guys!
