Timber Ridge Resort

Amazing place. I stayed there with my girlfriend in April. The staff are nice and proffesional, the lodges are beatiful and fully stacked with everything u can wish for. Bedroom are beautiful. The area is amazing reguardless of Yosemite. Thanks for Bob and Diane for the warm hospitality.

Most amazing place you could ever imagine. Fantastic views, clean modern wood houses with all possible appliances, thick walls, huge pool, clean huge jacuzzi, covered garage, fireplace, very friendly polite staff, $ 150/​night for a suite capable of accommodating 4. Any negative reviews here were written by competitors. This place is simply amazing. We’ll be coming back every 2 months for sure.

Most people stay here in the winter (and with good reason). But summer is soooo much better! The place is far cheaper (about ¼ the price), AND they offer a discount for teachers, firefighters and other public servants. (As teachers, its not often that we are respected or adequately paid for the work we do for the world, so this company earns serious extra points for offering a discount.) It was empty, peaceful, with comfy beds, huge windows, located outside of town. We reserved a studio but got a random free upgrade to a huge 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom condo, high on the hill with a GORGEOUS view. Although its slopeside location is obviously not quite as exciting during the summer, there are plenty of beautiful spaces and trails right outside the door. Night hike, anyone?
If you’re staying in Mammoth (at least during summer/​shoulder seasons,) don’t bother with the cheap motels. Timber Ridge is 1,000,000,000x better and not way too much more. It would be penny-​wise but pound-​foolish to stay elsewhere (except, of course, the backcountry.)
The minuses: They have a 2-​night minimum. You have to clean up your dishes and take out all your own trash, including bathroom trash. Also, one morning a staff member entered our condo unannounced to leave us a note. It was very nice of them to come by, but we didn’t find the note until later (we had been asleep at the time). Couldn’t they have left the note under the doorway? What if we had been naked or having sex on the couch?
Conclusion: LOVE IT and will be back!

The Good: They have ski in and ski out, wood fireplaces, and a tiny garage for your car. This place is not the top of my list for places to stay in Mammoth but it’ll do.
The Bad: It’s a bit tiny for the price. It was like $ 250 a night for a one bedroom. A tiny little 19″ television with a standard dvd player… no blu-​ray :(
The Ben: You don’t really care where you stay, it’s all about the snow: D
