This was a good half way point to stop on the mountain and grab some food. They had a decent selection of food and it didn’t seem to be as bad as most lodge food.

I don’t ski, so I seriously came here for the views and apres ski. Now, reviewing a ski resort dining area is truly a first for me! I’m going to break down a few components here: Food variety: There’s Asian, pasta, salad, burgers, Mexican… you name it. There’s pretty much something for everyone. Score: 5 stars Food quality: Quality is a bit hindered, likely due to variety saturation. the nachos we ordered as a snack for our small group were good, and certainly hit the spot, but obviously not up to a sit-down Mexican restaurant Score: 3 stars Views: Holy cats! Well, considering that this establishment is located on a mountain that you must either ski to our take a gondola to, the views are out of this world! Score: 5 stars Drinks: The bar area has a wonderful variety of hot and cold cocktails. My group of 4 all ordered the Mammoth Mocha to warm us up. The cocktail was delicious. The wait for drinks was longer than expected and didn’t taste like there was enough booze in it for the price. It was a nice, delicious warming drink to savor while we also drank in the views. Score: 3.5 stars After reading the almost dismal reviews of McCoy Station from pre-2014 it appears as though they’ve stepped up their game. The most impressive part of this place is the logistics behind the restaurant supply chain management! Seriously– they haul everything up a ski hill. Mind… blown.

Great place to stop in and warm up and grab some food while skiing or boarding. One day I had the chili served in a bread bowl, the next day I had a slice of 8 dollar pizza along with a homemade doughnut. The food is about what I would expect for a slope-side restaurant and the prices are as well. I hate paying 8 dollars for a piece of generic pizza with mediocre taste but they got you by the balls there. The alternative is 32 bucks for an entire pizza, so what can you do. It’s one of those givens to keep in mind when you are going to spend the day on the slopes. Bend over, take it, and get back on the slopes. :-) #mccoystation #mammoth

The Mexican is great. Pozole is some of best anywhere! Taco are really good. Careful with grilled peppers — some are habaneros!!! Phở sucks. Pizza is just ok but overpriced — hey, it’s a ski mt.

If you don’t want to deal with the crowds at the base of the mountain, work your way up to McCoy Station for lunch. Don’t get me wrong, it’s crowded, just less crowded. The food is OK with a variety of choices. I had the steak burrito which was standard fare, C+. You can also get something cold or warm to drink. The cost per person is about what you might expect, just shy of $ 20 for food and an adult beverage. Ps. Hot tip, get the nachos they looked really good, I was just not ready to ski with that in my belly.

This place has the best convenience as well as some of the best food. Great place to stop for lunch! ACCESS: you can get here from almost anywhere on the mountain. Even the non-skiers can hitch a ride on the gondola to get up here. For everyone else, it’s right in the middle of the mountain. SEATING: Probably the largest dining area on the mountain. There’s an outside patio by the bar, an inside bar, a large main floor, and a huge area downstairs for overflow. Great for groups to find a table together. They often have a DJ out on the front deck, but otherwise will usually have good music playing. FOOD: Large selection, from waffles to soups, baked potatoes, pizza, Mexican, Italian, and a grill. The food is $$(Of course), but you get a lot of food, so the deals aren’t terrible. PROTIP: Don’t get beer from the cafeteria, get it from the bar. They often have some good deals.

I normally don’t have many fantastic things to say about Mammoth food lodges but today’s meals finally gave me a reason to write a review. I mainly just wanted to post my picture of my MASSIVE nachos. I order the grande nachos and they guy serving made sure to load up my plate. It no joke felt like 10 pounds of nachos, loaded up with chips, cheese, rice, lettuce, guac and other fun stuff. Could not have been more full after. Although everything else at this place is unbelievably expensive(like a $ 7 fruit cup!!!), this meal was great.

I think the food at McCoy is better than most of the lodges at Mammoth and it’s pretty cool being half way up the mountain for lunch. There is lots of variety but I got the Grande Burrito with carne aside and it was pretty decent. Nothing special but filled me up and kept me going for the afternoon. I did ask for a very small amount of sour cream and the guy but the largest dollop on my burrito which was annoying.

After hitting the slopes on a cold, windy day or even a warm, sunny day, I always look forward to lunch at McCoys. This is definitely one of the most popular places to eat on the mountain for lunch. Usually, finding seats on the main floor is hard since it’s always packed. However, there is always plenty of room downstairs. Be warned, the downstairs area is significantly colder. McCoys is located on the middle of the mountain so you have to ski down to it. You could also take the gondola up from Main Lodge. My guilty pleasure is the chili cheese fries– so filling and unhealthy. A basket is enough to share amongst two people, or if you’re feeling particularly indulgent you can devour it yourself :) I usually get something from«The Grill» or the Soup and Potato bar. The pizza is meh, and the«Asian» selections are gross. They have a myriad of drinks. Seriously, the drink selection is great. Still, the prices are wayyyyy too high. Then again, no matter where you go to eat on the mountain, it’ll be expensive. I’m still not exactly sure why I like McCoys over the other eating cafeterias on the mountain. Maybe it’s tradition. Maybe it’s its popularity. Maybe the food is actually better.

McCoy is definitely my favorite place to take a break or chill while riding in Mammoth. It doesn’t hurt that it sits right next to my favorite Face Lift Express lift. Kickin it at mid-mountain is the place to be on a sunny bluebird day! There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and it’s super cool when they have a DJ outside playing some tunes. Also, there is a bar inside if you feel the need to take it easy for the day =). All the food here is overpriced and is usually hit-or-miss. I wouldn’t recommend the hot dogs with chili even though they are pretty delicious after a good number of runs.

Definitely one of my favorite places to eat at Mammoth for the large variety of foods and tables available. McCoy Station is located dead in the middle of the mountain at the first stop of the Panoramic Gondola or right near Stump Alley Express. There are at least 5+ restaurants here including a server yourself drink/snack area in the middle of all the din. I’ve been here several times, but I still have not yet tried everything! They have burgers, soups, salads, Italian, Asian foods(very american-ized Chinese/Vietnamese foods like Phở, fried rice, etc.), & waffle sandwiches(wafflewich — right next to the gondola entrance). McCoy station also has two bars: one indoor to serve all the people eating inside and one outside to serve the quick hot chocolate or tequila shot while trying to «loosen up» on the mountain… ;) Pros: –Wide variety of food –Lines for different cafes aren’t very long –Food is really good and fresh –Staff is nice –Tables/Food facilities are clean despite the amount of people who are passing through all at once! Cons: –Table seating on the main floor is really tough to find. –Long lines for the bathroom Tip: –If you walk downstairs, there are tons of tables and nice views available… Just be careful in your ski/snowboard boots!

Overpriced and not so yummy. McCoy’s changes things up every season — usually increasing prices and eliminating good lunch options. On Saturday afternoons during ski season, it is nearly impossible to get a seat.(Mostly people bringing their own lunches) Avoid the fake Phở bar. Everyone hates it.

When you are the mountain you do not have many choices. For a world class resort like Mammoth, this is the most disappointing experience. Come on guys, you want to be world class and compete with the Big Boys — get the food up to par. We want items like fresh sushi and sandwiches, move the cookies to the cash registers and use the space over there for fresh healthy choices. Even the sandwiches at the grill are on hamburger buns, where is the whole wheat or healthier choices. The soup is never hot enough, although it does make it a challenge to tackle the microwave in ski boots and carrying a tray. Let’s get on the same scale as Deer Valley or Vail, we deserve it and so does the resort. Rethink, rearrange and get out of the cafeteria mode. Two weeks ago we stopped at Main Lodge instead of McCoys and they were just taking out frozen burgers and dried up chicken breast at 12:30pm…who does this on the weekend. Love Mammoth, love the Beach @ Canyon for apres ski cocktails, but the food everywhere else needs an upgrade.

All skill levels welcome! I was scared to come up to this place for fear of not finding a good green to cruise down on. but all was good! Take the gondola HALF way up. if you take it all the way to the top youll be stuck either riding it back down(lame!) or venturing out on blacks or double blacks. the cafeteria is EXACTLY like the cafeteria down at the main lodge. same food. same prices(overpriced by tens of dollars). there are cool lounge patio chairs out front in the sun shine and on a sunny day you can get quite warm from the radiation heat from the sun. if youre scared like i was just take St Moritz down and follow signs to the Main Lodge. its easy and pretty fun too.

I don’t stop at McCoy as much as the others — it seems a bit more natural to stop somewhere for food, etc. at the bottom — but it is a cool place on the mountain. It’s pretty large, has a good selection of food and tons of window seats. One of my fondest memories from McCoy was meeting up with the people who found my iPhone(half buried under snow on a run from the top), and for that it’ll always have a soft spot in my heart. :D

My favorite place to eat around the mountain! Cleanest, best service, best selection, best view! There’s a salad bar for all the vegetarians out there. Asian, Mexican, Italian, Grill for all your worldly food needs. Then round it out with dessert and ice-cream. Everytime I’ve been here, the food has been very tasty. Lots of space in seating area. Be sure to get a seat near a hottie for ease of striking up a conversation!

This is my favorite lunch spot on Mammoth Mountain. There is a variety of food options(Asian, burgers, soup/chili, Mexican, pizza, salad bar), a great bar(Steeps) with sports channels on if you just feel like chilling out, and plenty of seating. As with most ski resorts, lunch ain’t cheap but you are welcome to bring your own lunch if you like. The outdoor patio on a sunny day is rocking! The best thing about McCoy Station is the easy access to the mid-station gondola to get you to the runs at the top. A great spot to meet up with friends :)

Great place to eat, drink, and rest after a day on the slopes. They have so much different food areas kind of like a cafeteria — pasta, mexican, desserts, salad bar, AND they have a bar BAR. in case, you need a few shots to warm you up =) The garlic fries here are INSANE. Please don’t bother to talk to anyone after eating them.

Rooomy & Warm inside! Pretty Popular food to ski/snowboard to while you’re on Mammoth Mountain. Way Larger Venue compared to the Mill with two lifts outside of it. Mini store inside, food area and huge open eating area. Eating area outside also. Food: eh? American, what can you expect. I’m rating on destination.
