Bob was able to cut a key to my rental car and spare me the expense of towing it to a dealership. Super polite, too!

Locked my keys in the trunk, which is harder to deal with than if the keys are in the car as the security will keep the trunk locked even if after you get in the car.
Bob came in 15min, broke in the car for 5, removed the lock and unlocked the trunk. Hands down amazing, professional and affordable.

Bob Pearce who owns Mammoth Lock and Key responded within thirty minutes to help me with a broken computer chip car key. He KNEW what to do! Within fifteen minutes I had a new key. The service was great, the price was fair and I felt as if I made a new friend. No reservations, use this guy!

Bob is a GEM! Recently I lost my ONLY electronic key while skiing at Mammoth, in the April blizzard.
It was very stressful as we have 4 kids, needed to leave the mountain, and it was snowing hard. Bob was calm and EXTREMELY HELPFUL. He tried to rearrange his schedule to accommodate us and was very transparent about the work and cost to ‘reflash’ our car’s computer system.
He offered to make two trips to the Mammoth Mountain Inn (in the blizzard) to start working on it, however, in the meantime my key turned up!
It is rare these days you find such a nice, genuine, honest person. THANK YOU BOB!

Bob is EXCELLENT! He was honest, helpful, and interested only in doing the right thing — not just making a buck.
I lost my keys while skiing at Mammoth alone on Saturday. My nearest spare key was in Santa Monica, and AAA had no contracted providers. Bob to the rescue!
While available to help me, and completely knowledgable and transparent about the process, he advised that I wait until the next day to make a decision to have him come out, because he said keys usually turn up on the slopes.
He was right! While lucky to have found my keys, I feel even luckier to have encountered such a great man as Bob. I would highly recommend him for any key/​lock needs you may have.

Bob does great work and is very affordable. He was able to open a deadbolt and rekey in less than 45 mins. I called in the morning and he was able to come by in the afternoon. Great guy.

On our recent trip to Mammoth one of the cars (2002 GMC Yukon) suffered an ignition key malfunction where the key could not be turned in the lock. After agonizing over an hour attempting to solve the problem we called 2 local locksmiths. Luckily we got Bob who came promptly and determined what the problem was and would fix it the next day since we had to go to Bishop to get the part. While in Bishop he called the auto parts store to ensure we received the right part! That was amazing. The next day he came at 9 as promised and began working on the problem. He finally got the lock out and replaced it after drilling for a couple of hours. Then it happened… the stupid security system kicked in and the car would start then die within seconds. Bob figured it was the security system and began an arduous journey in attempting to re-​program the system all the while informing me what he intended to do. After several failed attempts and 6 hours later, (after scouring the internet for possible solutions) he got it to start! The bottom line is how many business owners do you find now days that show this kind of competence, dedication, and pride in doing a job right? I feel a lesser professional would have given up after a couple of attempts but Bob took this situation as a challenge and a learning moment to better his trade skills. Without Bob, I’m sure the Yukon would be sitting in a Mammoth repair shop. I highly recommend Bob for ANY lock issue!

Jeep broke down and wouldn’t start. Was referred to Bob who would be able to make a new key for me if key was the problem. He came to where my Jeep was parked, checked it out and said key was not the problem. No charge for coming out. It helped me a great deal once I knew the problem was NOT the key and could continue on to find the problem. Thanks Bob I will certainly call you in the future should we have

Thanks to Bob, locking the keys in the car in our campsite was more funny than inconvenient… Super friendly, competent, prompt, and much less expensive than expected. He even made us a new key on the spot and provided a quick tutorial on lock out key strategy. Highly recommended!

Bob is professional, knowledgeable, highly skilled and very personable. He opened my locks, provided me with keys, and charged me very little. Whether you need a house, auto, or any other key, I highly recommend Bob. He charges less than the dealer if you should need a new key fob for your car.

Like an idiot, I forgot the key to our owners locker to our condo. Bob not only answered my call right away, he was at my doorstep in 10 minutes. It was a tough lock to open but he persisted and in the end he not only opened it but provided me with 2 keys. Super friendly, great skills, and very reasonable price. Most highly recommended.

Amazing! Give him a call before anyone else in the area, I made the mistake of going with one of his competitors who could not get the job done (and still made me pay). He does car keys that require chips in them — so if you loose your entire key ring you can just go to him instead of two people. Also just a side note — the guy I called first did not re-​attach the lock hinge in the trunk so I had to go with a broken trunk lock for about two months until I ran into the owner (of Mammoth lock & key) randomly at the bank the other day. He remembered that he did some work for me and actually fixed the botched job his competitor did on my car right there in the parking lot for free (and if your reading this thank you again)!! Overall stand up guy who knows his trade very well.
