We went with low expectations because of the previous reviews. When we got there it was six dollars for an hour and a half of skating with skates. Which is a really good deal compared to other skating places I’ve been. The people are super friendly and everybody had a great time who was there. The skates might have been dull but you wouldn’t notice if it’s your first your second time. And if you’re concerned about sharp skates then get your own. Great family fun!

Was only in Mammoth for a limited amount of time. I had researched things to do before arriving, the ice rink was one of them. Was excited while in town and noticed that the public skate was starting at 7 until 10. We had planned our night around going, we showed up a little after 730 and a few girls had just gotten on the ice. When attempting to buy tickets we were told that the rink was closing in 30 minutes because there was going to be a tournament. No one was around and was no sign of a tournament happening. Both website schedule and the schedule hanging on the booth said public skate was available that night. Was very disappointed in the wrong information being posted twice or changing the schedule and not updating it.

The ice is kept clean, and the skates are kept dull. Three of us, all received very dull rental skates, and there is no way to sharpen them! If your sliding all over or falling, llikely why. They really need to buy a sharpener. Bring your own skates. Beautiful mountain backdrop.
