Grand Mammoth Resorts

Easy to book via phone and easy to pick up keys. Price was very reasonable and the place was clean. This is my second time renting from GMR and I would definitely do it again. I just won’t give it 5 stars because there was no burning wood left in the apartment when we got it, even thought there were plenty of fire starters, but nothing that a quick run to the store would not fix.

This has taken me 3 days to think what I was going to write and what I wanted to say. First I dealt with Becky via email, when I rented the condo. I must say Becky is very professional and attentive. We were aware that check in time is at 530pm. We were well aware of that!! I We arrived at 1130am, the front desk told us that we might be able to check in at 130pm, and that the condo it was being cleaned, and some minor repairs needed. We returned at 2, and the front desk told us that she couldn’t get ahold of the cleaning people, but to return in an hour? She also said some condos were ready, and that she will give us a call when ours would be ready. We returned in an hour 3pm now she said that, what the cleaning people do is they clean one entire complex, and they stay in that complex, meaning that if they have more rooms to clean in that condominium complex that’s were they stay, and since in our complex Snowflower there was only 1 condominium (ours) why would they clean ours first.
So anyhow we returned at 4pm, and asked if our rental would be ready by 5? A manager stepped out and assured us that by 5pm our rental would be ready. We returned at 5pm, so did everyone else who were renting condominiums that weekend. everyone in the office were upset that their condos were not ready, including ours. BTW Their offices close at 5 pm. We got our keys at 5pm and we were told that the cleaning people were inside, and that by the time we drove to the rental it would be ready. WRONG AGAIN! As we are pulling up, and parking and walking up to the condo we see a van speeding down the roadway parking it walking inside walking towards the rental and locking the door behind them. They didn’t even let us use the bathroom. The cleaning crew consisted 2 people in a huge van. Than 10 minutes later another small vehicle showed up to help and finish cleaning. The cleaning was done half fast. By the time we were able to get it inside was it was past 645pm. I want to mention that we had a baby who had a 101 fever, and the altitude was not in his favor. We made the front desk aware of our situation. I understand what the policy is, but come on. We are your clients /​customers. They knew we had arrived early, why not try to accommodate us.
I feel bad for the owners of Snowflower unit 44. This management company is not helping the customers/​clients /​tenants or owners. You need to hire more cleaning crew, and be prepare for snow days and busy weekend days. This was not a holiday weekend. It’s job security for your county, and your city. Be prepared! Don’t give tenants the excuse that you were not prepare for so many people. Again we were not the only ones upset, and disatisfied, it was already after 5:30.
Don’t assume that people will get there after 5pm, many of us are driving 4 to 5 hours even more, and we leave our homes early to enjoy our weekend. Many of us take the time off from work. So have consideration for families who are just looking to have a good time and relax in your City. Customers tenants, and owners thats your bread and butter BE READY!!! For high volume. It helps your Revenue in your city. If you would be considerate of the families who stay at your condo, you would have more business.

AVOID this management company. Their customer service is really poor. Feels like they have let the few bad experiences with tenants bleed into their general culture towards all tenants. It comes across in their terms of service, which go into great detail about what they expect from renters, but offers no information on their promise to their customers. They sneakily charged a $ 200 pet fee to my credit card without notifying me, on a unit that was advertised as pet friendly. I also wrote a note on my booking request stating that we have a pet. After calling the office to dispute it, they are now dragging it out for days. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company. The property itself at St. Anton was fine, you can walk right to Canyon Lodge from there. Other than the Grand Mammoth Resorts nonsense we had a great trip with tons of pow!

the house was not cleaned properly. broken chair in the living room. balcony door handle kept falling off and the balcony was dirty. screen was off on the window on balcony. the shower didn’t work on the last day. they didn’t supply us with wood and had to call in on the day we arrived to get it delivered the next day. we paid over $ 3000 for this townhouse for new year’s eve. it was considered a luxury townhouse… i emailed them the same day and days after to follow to compensate us in some way. they never replied! i was left very dissatisfied with this agency. i booked them on
. it’s very sad to experience this kind of service in such beautiful place like Mammoth and we go frequently.

The house was poorly maintained. There was a sectional that was not connected and I had to attach them together. It was uncleanly I found a crusty stale donut in the couch the floor had numerous crumbs on it. The outlets we so old and loose that none of my phone charges would stay in the outlets. This is the 21^st century and this house did not have Wifi. It also had a television from the early 2000s. The company also did not let me check in until 5pm and made me checkout at 10 am. I paid 355 dollars for a poorly maintained house and terrible customer service. I would absolutely not recommend that anyone use this rental property or this rental company.

We were quite happy with the place we rented through management by GMR. Everything went smoothly, place was well apportioned, and actually had the best jacuzzi we’ve used anywhere in Mammoth!

We will never use Grand Mammoth Resort company again. Costumer service was horrible. Oven in unit did not work and after I called to inform them they never addressed the issue. The unit was sub par. Very dated. I got locked out on the patio because the door handle broke off. The fridge wasn’t working for the first day. Drawers broken and paint needs to be redone. We have been renting units for the past 15 years and this one was by far the worst.

I’ve used Grand Mammoth Resorts for all of my Mammoth condo rentals. They’re always helpful and always courteous! I definitely recommend them any time you’re heading to Mammoth and need a place a stay!

This is the second time I have used Grand Mammoth resorts to book a condo from in Mammoth. They communicate via email during the time leading up to picking up your keys. They are on time with the keys and the condos have both been beyond our expectations. The ease at which one can get fresh towels or paper products is exceptional. I will use them again. They are located near the Vons shopping center which is also a plus.

My girlfriend and I will never be using Grand Mammoth Resorts (the company) again… and here are reasons why:
1. Hidden and outrageously high cleaning fees paired with non-​transparent booking process. We needed a room for 4 nights so I clicked the little calendar to select the 18^th through 21^st. The rent was an average of about $ 100 a night and after mammoth taxes I paid $ 460. That was easy enough until we realized on the drive up that we only had 3 nights booked. Apparently, by selecting the 21^st on the calendar, I was saying we were departing on the 21^st, not needing a room for the selected night. All of a sudden the price per night worked out to $ 153 a night. We thought we would figure it out later and we knew we needed a place to stay the last night so we called and booked the last night on the drive up.
2. On the second day of our stay the water suddenly wasn’t working around 10 AM. I called the rental company and they said it was a planned water outage that they weren’t made aware of and said it will be back on around 5. Though not necessarily the management’s fault we were a little frustrated that the company didn’t have a better line of communication with condo management and this seemed to catch everyone off guard. Regardless, we made the best of it and left for our hike. When we get back to the car I have a voicemail saying the water will remain off and they will need to move us.
3. By this time we’re both a bit more frustrated. We only had 3 non-​travel days in Mammoth and now we were going to likely waste an hour changing out keys and 3 – 4 hours packing everything up including a fridge full of groceries (yeah, we overbought a little), moving, and unpacking at a new place. Since we were without a usable unit for most of the day and changing units was going to scratch our evening plans we went to the company’s office to see if we could work out a refund.
When we arrive, the first thing the employee says is «I’m sorry but it’s not our fault». After making no progress on a refund we asked to speak with the manager; she’s out of the office and not answering her phone. After about 15 minutes of trying to figure out what we’re going to do the manager walks in and the first thing she says is «I’m sorry but this isn’t our fault». Now I’ve been lucky enough to only have to work in a customer service role when I was a kid, but I do remember one thing: as a company you don’t pass blame and you strive to make the customer happy. While the pipe situation may not have been their fault, I saw their lack of knowledge about the water outage entirely their fault. If they are going to make money off people to provide a service, they need to see it through — not just hand keys over and say «good luck».
NOW on to the real frustrating part. Long story short as our discussion moved forward the attitude of the manager (Michelle I think her name was) was increasingly short. They first offered a free night voucher but we wanted a refund. After nearly 45 minutes they finally agreed to give us a refund for one night: $ 75. Wait a minute. Not only is this less than the $ 100 a night rent listed, it’s WAY less than the $ 153 a night I paid. Naturally, we voice our concern. Going back to my point #1 above, what we found out is the «cleaning» fee isn’t included in the rent when it’s listed on their website. In fact, they don’t even show a cleaning fee on the receipt. I ask where in the booking process does this show we are paying more and was told that we can see the higher price in the total before you click to finalize. Unfortunately because I thought I was booking 4 nights when in fact it was 3 this increase in price was pretty well hidden. I think that’s BS, especially when they only clean once at the end of the stay.
As our discussion continued it turned out that they never billed me for our added night on the way up, so basically we walked away with keys to a new place, a lost hour arguing, and an evening of packing, moving, and unpacking ahead of us. But the icing on the cake of why I’ll never use this place again: Michelle and the lady in the back were talking trash about my girlfriend and I while we were still in the office finalizing the new place. For example, in a very loud and sarcastic voice they said «I don’t know why they’re b****ing they already got a free night».
Lastly, while moving out we ran into a family in the same situation as us. They also had a terrible experience with Michelle and their staff due to their attitude.
I would never recommend using this company to anybody.

This place is not as we expected, we rent it online the picture showed a nice clean place, that wasn’t clean at all but really dirty carpet and as we rented they had to have wifi that not working, anyway no choice as we paid, but never ever come back here… I can say no star at all, but I guess have to choose one star …

~I came for the Mammoth Half Marathon, and I didn’t expect how this rental is literally convenient to the village. Luv the place. The only downside is there is no A/​C but there is a ceiling fan in the bedroom. It was a bit warm this year, so I opened the bedroom window and the balcony door. Overall, I will use the site for my next trip. Until next year for my next Half.

Wouldn’t stay anyplace else. Great variety of units. Very convenient to have a kitchen when your on vacation.
