History

Established in 2010.

Since opening in 2010 SLYS has already become a Certified Professional Yacht Broker Endorsed Dealership and one of the top 10 Hunter dealers in the world for both customer satisfaction and sales volume as well as the inaugural Blue Jacket Dealer of the Year. SLYS promotes an extremely healthy corporate philosophy of service, sincerity and ethics in all dealings with team members, vendors, and customers.

Meet the Business Owner

Rick D.

Business Owner

Rick grew up enjoying water sports, from swim team to sailing to scuba diving. He served our country a member of the US Navy Submarine Service and went to college at both Northwestern and the University of Denver where he majored in Business Administration. Post college Rick enjoyed a very successful 15 year career in the Auto Industry working his way up from Salesman to General Manager. In 2004 he joined Vin Petrella at Hellier Yacht Sales in New London, CT as a Yacht Broker and within 4 years he had taken over running the business. Rick’s expertise and opinion has appeared in articles in major consumer magazines such as Cruising World and he has appeared as a panelist at the Yacht Broker University’s industry «Best Practices» forum.
