Great food, valet parking, polished service. I Highly recommend this restaurant to all.

Il Castillo is a nice Italian restaurant in an area chock full of Italian restaurants. I’d describe the food as upscale Italian, but it’s not unreasonably priced. My wife and I went on a weekend evening and both enjoyed our meals. My only complaint was that the dining area is small, and toward the end of our meal the place had completely filled up, so people were waiting to be seated. Since there really is no waiting area, I felt like people were standing over my shoulder as I ate. I suggest going on a weeknight. Either way, you’ll enjoy well prepared traditional Italian food.

Friendly and lively service, with a typical Westchester Italian approach, well-executed. Simple and unpretentious room. Valet parking is welcome although you can always park in the station lot across the street after 5 pm.

Terrible food. The waiters are rude and arrogant. Portions are skimpy and the place is a ripoff. They more than likely get their products from the same place as any other restaurant but yet they feel their food is worth charging well above what other restaurants charge. If the food was good it would be worth it but it is pure garbage. The owner thinks who the hell he is and the best part of it all is that he is not even Italian. He is Albanian. They have no food so they have to pretend to be Italian considering they are neighbors to the Italians and these people at this place are good at sucking up to people throwing in Italian phrases here and there to fool them but a real Italian catches on to their fake accent. Everybody stop referring to and calling this Italian food. It is not. You need an Italian Owner and an Italian chef to push out real authentic Italian food not a bunch of phonies.

Went there with my elderly relatives. They are regulars and good tippers. They are also regularly over-charged. The food doesn’t warrant the high prices. The servers were obsequious to the person they knew was paying the bill but literally leaned over me and stepped on my foot to get to him. Several times the staff had their derrière too close to my face. When I didn’t like my food the owner said there was nothing wrong with it(without tasting how over-spiced it was) and didn’t offer to exchange or take it off the bill. I’m neither difficult nor a child and his behavior was offensive. Never again.

Yummy… Great service and delicious food. Starter of figs with prosciutto, stuffed artichoke, escargot and octopus were all delicious. Main course of homemade pappardelle, veal chop with salad, whole branzino fish filleted in front of you, veal colombo, and veal siciliano all delicious. Best after all the delicious food was dessert — strawberries with zambagion made fresh by host, Lenny. My family really enjoyed this meal. Highly recommend this place … just surprised we’ve not tried it sooner. Will be back.

Terrible service. Made a reservation for a large group; when our party got to the restaurant the owner/manager acted as though it was an inconvenience to seat us. Anyhow we chose to go somewhere else.

What a find! We were heading south on 95 from a golf outing looking to avoid traffic when I bit the bullet and said that our 2 cars would meet here on the basis of the first Unilocal review that stated there were obviously regulars when the reviewer visited. We got there about 6 on a Wednesday– it was empty only to fill with patrons who shook hands with the owner. Although we were still in golf clothes, we were treated royally and service continued to be exemplary even when the restaurant was full. We ordered from the specials(4 soft shelled crabs, a Dover sole, branzino and a steak) after sharing appetizers. There was not a morsel of food left on any plate! And the whole time everyone was commenting on the wonderful kitchen aromas. Dessert was equally wonderful with a candle and serenade for my birthday. Even though we are from Long Island, we all took cards and fantasized about making a trip to this wonderful spot again. All I can say is GO!

I’ve been visiting Il Castello since it opened and I’ve never been disappointed. They know me by now, greet me by name and with my favorite glass of vino. Who doesn’t love that?! When you sit down they provide wonderful bread and assorted goodies. For starters my favorites are the Caprese and the Seafood Salad. The Caprese is a nice size portion but the peppers hurt my stomach. The Seafood Salad is so fresh and can even be ordered as a meal. Also the homemade Pasta Fagioli is one of the best I ever had. I tried several of the main dishes and pastas and I’ve loved them all. I can’t speak for desert because I am usually too stuffed to eat anymore! The service and presentation is top notch. The owner Lenny works the room to ensure everyone is taken of. Great place for an excellent meal!

First of all I am not against the food at all. It was quite tasty although slightly overpriced. My issue is that I had come in without a reservation and instead of saying«we are booked», I was asked if I would be done an hour from when I walked in. The restaurant was not full when I walked in, but still explain that you will have a full house very soon. Don’t rush me. I purposefully took my time extending my meal by almost a half hour. Oh by the way, did I mention with all the empty tables that fit my party we were put all the way in the corner. What’s up with that? I have been at restaurants by well known chefs and did not have this issue at all.

Excellent traditional Italian food in an upscale setting. Food was great and there was plenty of waitstaff to tend to any needs. They have valet which was easy since there’s not much parking available. I would go back.

Went there tonight for restaurant week. Our first time there. You could tell that there were a lot of regulars there and yet we were treated like one. What a refreshing idea. We had clams oreganata(whole, not a big fan). I had Chicken Martini — fabulous, my husband had Sole Francese — great. Dessert was Italian cheesecake and tiramisu — cheesecake — okay — tiramisu — one of the best I ever had. Table wobbled, they saw it and fixed it. Espresso, not the best. We will go back for sure. The staff treated us great!

Went here for Valentine’s Day 2015. Had a gift certificate so we gave it a try. Wife’s ravioli was good. The escarole was delish. My steak had to be the toughest piece of meat I’ve ever had in my life. I couldn’t even cut the thing. I sent the whole thing back practically. Told the waiter quietly that it was extremely tough and I didn’t want to make a scene i just wanted him to tell chef as I would want to know if it was my restaurant. No discount after sending back with one or two bites out of it. Not mad… shit happens but this place should be ashamed for what they put on my plate. I would have enjoyed a cube steak more than that. First and last time.

Absolutely outstanding service and food. Some of the best Italian I’ve ever had. I would drive over an hour one-way just to eat here. Interior space is a little tight, but it’s well worth it.

Went for the first time last night and had a delicious meal across the board. For appetizer, I had the risotto with black truffles and it was the BEST I had EVER had. The baked clams were also very good, whole clams which I like. For dinner I had the Branzino which was cooked to perfection and served table side. I also tasted my friends shrimp scampi over capellini, which was also very very tasty. Hubby had The stuffed veal special which was stuffed w prosciutto mozzarella and it was also really good. Drinks were generous and made as requested(particular tastes)! Chocolate Gelato was what we had for dessert, it was good too. Service was attentive and friendly. Look forward to going there again soon!

I went here a month ago. I am not a fan of this place at all. The food is way overpriced and the staff is very fake. I mean it in the sense that they are being nice to you simply because they want to make money off of you and not because they really care. I just did not feel comfortable eating there. I also had the chicken alla Castello and It was lacking in flavor. You would think that a restaurant would get its trademark dish right. I don’t like to give 1 star to places so I give it a 2 and I’m being very generous about it.

Nice evening at Il Castello with friends. The dining room is small and a bit loud. There was an older crowd, but maybe that’s because we ate dinner at 6:45. There was a misunderstanding about restaurant week– we booked the reservation through Open Table, but didn’t know that the restaurant week menu wasn’t offered between 6 and 8 pm. After some discussion, the manager graciously let us order from the Restaurant Week menu. I was impressed that he did the right thing. We were served an excellent basket of bread and breadsticks upon being seated. Cocktails were very good, as was the wine by the glass. The mozzarella and tomato salad was very good. Branzino and veal Milanese were very good. Desserts were very good. The waitstaff were solicitous and pleasant. Overall, a very good meal at a very good Italian restaurant. It’s great that Westchester has so many above average Italian places.

We have now been to this restaurant several times, and they never disappoint. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and the food is always very good. I highly recommend the Caesar Salad. And if they have tortellini as a special… get it!
