Juan Cabrillo Elementary School

My son went to Juan Cabrillo from Kindergarten through part of third grade. While his kindergarten teacher was wonderful I became exceedingly disenchanted by his other instructors. I found them quite unable to deal with the high number of students in their class. The smarter kids were left to fend for themselves while the majority of the resources were spent on those with lesser abilities.
My son had the highest mark on his cumulative math test but was getting C’s and D’s in his regular class. When we talked to the principal about this, he promised to affect change but never did anything. The final straw for me was when I volunteered to help in class and witnessed students standing on their chairs and walking around while the teacher was speaking. Later I discovered that my son had walked out of class at one point and no one had noticed him missing for ten minutes. He was found playing in a field nearby.
