Weir Funeral Home is an independent, full service, family owned funeral home. We serve all faiths and have modern, spacious facilities, that were designed to be a funeral home, rather than the traditional converted residence. We believe that we are more than just a business, but are a member of the community.

History

Established in 1896.

First founded by Henry Weir in Malden in 1896, Henry envisioned the concept of having funeral services at a funeral home instead of at a residence, a first for Malden. Donald MacCuish apprenticed under Henry Weir’s son-​in-​law, Colin Dennis. When Mr. Dennis passed away, Donald purchased the business from his estate. After a fire in 1975, Donald doubled the size of the parking lot, and rebuilt the building, designed to be a funeral home instead of the cookie cutter approach many funeral homes have taken in converting former residences to funeral homes. Weir Funeral Home is proud to be a part of the Malden Community.
