Walking tours that feature food samples, visits to local galleries and unique venues in three quaint towns, Paia, Makawao and Lahaina on the island of Maui. The tours include the history of the towns and allow participants to learn about the local food and culture. Paia tour includes mostly restaurants and food establishments. Makawao tour includes food establishments, art galleries, a bakery, glass-​blowing studio and flower shop. Lahaina tour includes 10 – 11 food establishments and many different tastes from local products and merchants.

History

Established in 2012.

We have only been in business a little over a year, but already have had over 50 tours for people wanting a more local experience with food and history. We have received over 25 five star reviews about our tours and provide a unique personal experience while learning abut the small towns of Maui. Walking culinary tours are really popular now and Cindi, the owner, is an experienced educator who enjoys sharing the local culture with her clients. We are the only food walking tour on Maui.

Business Owner

Cindi is from Seattle, Washington but moved to Maui in 2004 and has worked in the tourist industry there for 8 years. She started Local Tastes of Maui after enjoying the walking food tours in Seattle and wanted to share her favorite towns with others. Her background includes 35 years in education and a passion for good food. This business is also a way to help with her other passion, animals, as 10% of the profits will be given to animal shelters.
