History

Established in 1997.

The owner of this business started in this industry in 1980 on the island of Oahu, in 1987 he saw that Maui desperately needed a company which could certify, perform required maintenance, install and recharge fire systems for Maui’s restaurants, the cost for these services were sky rocketing since all venders were from Oahu. Bryan Marks Set up shop for a now defunct business where he performed all operations of the business from secretary to system installer. In 1997 when the company was sold to a mainland firm Bryan decided to form Advanced Fire Protection, LLC. Now 15 Years later it is still the only local company that is fully staffed here on Maui to serve the Restaurants and Hotels of Maui, with son Andrew slowly taking over the business Bryan can still be seen out in the field from time to time.

Originally from the Boston area I first came to Hawaii in 1969, returned in 1976 and moved here in 1980 where I had stayed with my Grandparents on the Island of Oahu. Started working for a Fire Protection Company in July of 1980 where I worked for 1 Year in the shop, the next year in sales, after another year I started installing automatic systems and became shop Stewart for the union a year later I was the manager and now negotiating on the other side of the table but was always fair to the workers. Moved to Maui in 1987 and formed Advanced Fire Protection in 1997. From 1988 through 2003 I was a member of the United Stated Coast Guard Auxiliary where I learned many skills and helped the boaters in the surrounding waters of Maui, very rewarding! Through my 32 Years in this industry I have gone to countless training schools and seminars keeping up with the codes and new technologies in our industry.
