The cabin was wonderful, sweet, cozy and just a walk away from a nice winery called Blue Sky. We stayed at the Creole House. The owners knew ahead of time that this was to be a romantic trip for our engagement. The first morning we were there, the owner drove up and parked at our cabin(we were in robes having coffee on the porch) and said he needed to change a filter in the hot tub. Talked to us about the construction they were doing on the cabin right next to us. No warning, no apologies, and we were put off by the weird interruption. Then a couple of hours later, the owner’s wife came and knocked on the door until I answered it. I was blasting music, so I assumed they were telling me to turn it down. She came to give us a bottle of wine, which was sweet, but weird that she didn’t leave it for us before we came and instead came and expected us to be ready for visitors. I was getting ready and had half my makeup on. It was awkward and we were already annoyed by the other uninvited visit. The we ventured out on a short walk to the winery, where we were told that the owners of the cabin were having a party at the one next to us that they just finished that day and that they had invited several friends. The next winery we went to said the same thing, that they were going to be over there also. The worst part is that all the construction was on a cabin right next to us, and we were right on the lane. So every time someone drove by, they drove right by our cabin. We couldn’t enjoy the amazing private hot tub or the porch because there was so much activity and traffic. No one warned us that this would be the case, and when we mentioned that we were disappointed with our lack of privacy, the owner simply texted me back excuses and untruths. I get that they had work to do, and that they wanted to celebrate when finished, but please understand that we booked and paid for a cabin we thought would be private and we certainly weren’t expecting anyone to come check on us during our stay twice within a few hours. And to top it off, as we were loading up the car to leave, a random woman walked right into the house. I was so shocked I just stared at her. She said, «I’m the housekeeper.» Ok, but why on earth are you standing in my cabin without knocking!!! My fiancé had talked to her outside and said I was finishing getting ready and that I would be right out and that we were leaving shortly. She ignored him and just walked in without warning. So rude and weird! Here’s the convo I had with the owner upon checking out(I’ll post the screenshot also): Your housekeeper just walked right in the cabin without even knocking or introducing herself, even after Josh told her I was finishing getting ready and would be right out. Your cabin was lovely but the lack of privacy the entire stay was disappointing. We finished the new cabin yesterday afternoon and a group of friends surprised us last night. My apologies for that. I’m sorry that the house keeper came in unannounced, I’ll make sure that doesn’t happen again.

I saw this cute little abode via a Google search, read all of the wonderful reviews, and was disappointed to see that they were all booked up for when we wanted to get out of town. I really wanted to go to this place! Why do I always want what I cannot have!!! I went ahead and clicked on the button to be placed on the waiting list but soon forgot all about it. Several weeks later, I was surprised by a phone call stating that the Hobbit House had a last minute cancellation. I immediately jumped on-line and secured a 2-night stay to celebrate our 21st anniversary. We cannot recommend this little Hobbit House enough. It is like staying in a luxury«tiny home.» The peaceful surroundings, wildlife, butterflies, and nearby hiking/kayaking/ziplining just compliment the experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind home. The owners are incredibly talented, funny and helpful. They have truly thought of everything one would need while staying. We will ABSOLUTELY return. This is a must visit for anyone looking to get away from the stress of life. The hot tub was fantastic, the power-recline sofa was so nice that we must get one for our home, and the magical little details of the home will leave you smiling your entire vacation. We took Nancy’s advice and took a short walk through the forest **yes, through the forest** to the Blue Sky Winery the first night. For the second night, we picked up filets and shrimp at the local Kroger and grilled out a romantic dinner. It was FANTASTIC. Ed built this home and you can tell he is a perfectionist! Every tiny piece of the home was well-thought out. From the round windows, big round front door, to the curved doorways, trim on the ceilings, colors, the amazing little skylights!(**we kept thinking we forgot to turn out the lights in certain rooms due to the natural sunlight**). Nancy took care of us with farm fresh eggs, fresh pastries, and two«Peaks» from the local bakery which were giant-sized Ding Dongs to help us celebrate our anniversary. It was one of our best getaways ever. :)
