St Andrews Lutheran Church

So, first, some history. Growing up in White Bear Lake since 1977, our family became members of the first St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, the small, 500-​seat church on Mahtomedi Avenue that is now owned by Majestic Pines. We later graduated to the larger, what now is the Great Hall. It was a wonderful worship community with engaging pastors, a very active youth group, and energizing music.
We enjoyed worshiping there, and gazing out the windows at the pine trees and God’s creation.
Since that time, the church has expanded greatly, moving to an even larger sanctuary with a very impressive organ. The sanctuary is located further back on the campus. It has a lot of windows that allow lots of natural light, and the sanctuary seats a lot of people… so much in fact, that when we were there recently for my mother’s funeral service with perhaps 200 people, we felt dwarfed. Apparently, there’s an excellent music series that’s now held there throughout the year. The organist is phenomenal.
The campus now has school options, as well as senior living, and a separate youth building. It’s quite impressive what Pastor Roger Eigenfeld and his successors were able to build and grow. If you’re looking for a massive (9,000 members) Lutheran community with a lot of programming options for all ages, St. Andrew’s is worth trying out.

This place is great worship community! Big church with a small town feel. There is niche here for everybody.
