Ok… what is up with this store? It’s not the employees’ fault. It’s the physical store. It’s like a Walgreens exec visited CVS and Sam’s Club, then combined the worst elements of both with the flaws Walgreens already had to create the worst shopping experience possible. High, unfinished ceilings that make you feel like you’re in the stockroom instead of the shopping area? Check.(The effect is worse in a small store like this than in a larger store like HEB or Wal-Mart, which do the same thing.) Unfinished floors that make everything from footsteps to voices echo? Check. Poor lighting? Check. One huge checkout counter, multiple stations, but only one cashier? Check.(The old store design at least just had a little«island» that went unused, not the ENTIREFRONTOFTHESTORE.) If this is what’s coming to all the other Walgreen’s stores as they’re remodeled, then … ugh. Despite all that, it’s still better than CVS. But I’m finding the convenience of just sending my(rarely needed) prescriptions to HEB instead looking more and more appealing.

What’s not to love about a big shiny new Walgreens in the Mag? If you live in these parts, NOTMUCH! Huge store, huge cosmetics section with a specialized counter… can we say love at first sight? CVS stay your azz away, we don’t need the extra comp.
