Just tried to fill a prescription only to find out Walgreens won’t accept TRICARE — how un patriotic especially with Redstone being here. Will use publix from now on

Incompetent pharmacy staff are a risk to outpatient’s health! My daughter had a surgical procedure and had two prescriptions for pain meds that needed to be filled immediately afterwards. I dropped the prescription off with one of the pharmacy assistants and I was told to return in 20 mins. Upon my return, I was told that Walgreens didn’t have a contract with my insurance company(Humana) and couldn’t honor my insurance. My next question was why didn’t they tell me this when I presented the insurance card at drop off? She told me that the info had to be typed into the system before they would know. I asked her wouldn’t it have made sense to find out before you waste the customer’s time. She didn’t have answer. I told her that I could have saved time and my daughter’s extended pain and suffering had I been told in advance. No longer feeling like giving a class on customer service and common courtesy, I took my prescription to CVS and was quickly served at a co pay price that was lower than what I expected. In the future, I will be sure to quickly pass by Walgreens on my way to fill my prescriptions at CVS!

Horrible experience at the pharmacy. Kept being told to wait 10 – 15 minutes even after two hours.

Of all the Walgreens I have been in, this is by far the most recent. It’s a Walgreens. It is the same as every other one.

Clean and well organized drug store. Keep an eye out for fantastic deals here. This place can be a couponer’s dream. And make sure you get the rewards card too for extra savings.
