This store is great in some ways and disappointing in others. The good: huge variety of toys and lego, fairly competitive prices, service is usually quick but when its bad it sucks. The not so Good: Although they have a variety of toys many times they have no stock, they closed the store on the East side. On my last visit there were 20+ people working in the store and 2 checkouts open. Each line had 5 – 7 people in it.

It seems that Toys R Us prints the coupons on the register slip for the items you are purchasing but the computer fails to honor them. When bringing this to the attention of staff, they are scornful and treat you like a dummy. See… your discounts are listed. Then you must insist they do the math. This has happened to friends at the Janesville store and to me in Madison. It’s fraud. Take the time to study your cash register receipt to see if any of the discounts were applied.

Will never shop a Toys R Us again. Including online. No reason an unopened item with receipt takes 15 minutes to return. Also, invade the customer’s privacy a little more asking for their number why don’t ya? Great, you have their number, let’s text & call them to inquire more about their awful experience. Literally everything carried by this store can be found cheaper anywhere else with 10x the customer experience.

I’m one of those people who just adores other people’s kids. So much fun to be had… as long as someone else is taking them home at the end of the night. Since this is always what happens at our summer cookouts, I’ve been stocking up on fun summer toys for our guests of all ages. I recently visited the Toys R Us in search of a kiddie pool, lawn games, and squirt guns. I located the pools right away, but then circled the store twice in search of the rest. I finally asked someone for help, and while they did point me in the right direction I was surprised to find they carried only two brands of water gun and kept them in an odd spot with random snacks and other non-water-play items. No wonder I couldn’t find them. I was directed to the ‘sports’ section to find lawn games. I told him I was thinking along the lines of ladder ball or a bean bag toss, but I had no such luck. This really surprised me. Yes, this is a toy store, but family friendly lawn games are something I would think fits here. The closest to what I had in mind was a badminton set. I snagged a couple of things from the $ 1 and $ 3 sections as I walked to the register and noticed some more(cheaper and smaller) kiddie pools stuck off away from the other water stuff. Way to go Toys-R-Us… *shakes head* This store was so confusing and frustrating. I was easily there for twice as long as I should have been, just trying to find some summer basics. All of the staff I encountered were friendly, however, so I guess that’s a plus. I can’t imagine trying to scout the place with kids in tow, and I guess that might be why their layout makes so little sense. You end up seeing a bit of everything while searching, and they pack the place with so much stuff that depending on the item, some seriously lack variety for such a large store. I think I’ll stick with some of the other, smaller, places where I typically get gifts for the kiddos in the future.

This place is awful. The price goes on the high side, and you can get much better deals online or in other stores. The category classification is a mess. There is no directory of whole place, given this is a huge store. And you can’t find what you want unless you happen to bump into it. The customer service totally sucks. When I returned a jigsaw, she couldn’t understand what sawdust is and kept saying that during cutting every product would have that. The thing is, when I opened the box and took out the pieces, the sawdust just messed my desk. And she was not happy that I opened the item. C’mon, how can I know I don’t like it before I open the box? Finally the refund was processed, and she didn’t say thank you, even not looking at me! I felt so offended and decided to NEVEREVER come back to this store or shopping online anymore! The name of the rude staff is Katy, in case you bump into her.

I avoid this place like the plague. I only come here when it is absolutely necessary, on a weekday and without children. Hate the layout, pricing is fair, but so much other stuff going on its hard to find anything. I would rather buy online than here. Be warned!

This store has a lot of toys. Apparently toy shopping is so important these days that the store has to be open at 9pm on Thanksgiving day. I am completely in awe at the depths of stupidity this nation has fallen to and this store is leading the way. We shop here when looking for children’s gifts. It isn’t the best store for atmosphere and so not the most fun place to shop in the first place. Anyway, we won’t be going here ever again since they are opening on a holiday. If they didn’t have this policy I would give them three stars with one star being for keeping their store hours away from the holiday out of respect for their employees. If they treat their employees this way imagine how much they care about their customers.
