We are an independent eye care clinic, conveniently located in the Lenscrafters at the West Towne Mall in Madison, Wisconsin. We proudly serve the communities of Madison, Fitchburg, Oregon, Sun Prairie, McFarland, Cottage Grove, Verona, Middleton, Stoughton, and all of the Dane County area.

Our office offers a full range of eye care and eye exam services to preserve your eye health and improve your vision, including the latest in contact lens technology, as well as LASIK and cataract surgery consultations. Our eye doctors use state-​of-​the-​art optometric instruments and techniques to diagnose your vision requirements and recommend the best eye wear solutions to meet your individual needs.

History

Established in 2011.

A Wisconsin native, Dr. Tessa Sokol has travelled the country to gain her education, skills and community-​focused outlook, bringing it all back to Wisconsin, and ultimately to Sokol Advanced Eyecare. She has over twelve years experience in the optical field, beginning as an optician and then becoming an optometrist.

Dr. Sokol has a vast amount of experience completing four optometric internships. She received training in advanced medical care, ocular disease, surgical co-​management, and low vision rehabilitation at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. She then trained at the distinguished Child and Family Optometry clinic in Wichita, Kansas, focusing her studies on pediatric optometry, vision therapy and developmental vision disorders. Her third internship concentrated on primary care and contact lens fittings at the Naval Hospital and Parris Island Marine Training Facility in Beaufort, South Carolina. Dr. Sokol graduated cum laude from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2007 with her doctorate in optometry. She was awarded membership into the Beta Sigma Kappa and Tomb & Key optometric honor societies. She has also co-​authored an article entitled ‘Fragile X Syndrome and the Fragile X-​associated Tremor/​Ataxia Syndrome: A comprehensive review’ published in 2010 in the Eye Care Review.

Dr. Sokol puts a significant value on reaching out to the community and helping others. Currently, she is an active member of the Wisconsin and the American Optometric Association. She is serving as the Madison Area Optometric Society President. She is an InfantSEE provider, offering free examinations on infants 6 to 12 months old. Dr. Sokol is also a member of the Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity (VOSH) group where she has dedicated her time to helping local people in need of vision care, as well as traveling internationally to help people that have no access to eye care at all.
