Established in 1985.

Dr. Romano recognizes that going to the dentist can be challenging for many. Over the past 29 years he as seen many patients who avoided dental care because of anxiety. Because he felt a need to better serve these fearful patients he committed himself to treating the underserved. Dr. Romano completed the extensive training in New Jersey to acquire his conscious sedation license. Dr. Romano is one of only 50 dentists in the over 7000 Dentists in New Jersey licensed to administer conscious (IV) sedation, Dr. Romano is specially trained to treat anxious, fearful patients. Dr. Romano offers many options for making you comfortable throughout your treatment.

Dr. Romano remains committed to teaching and learning dentistry. Dr. Romano attends countless hours of continuing education courses all over the country each year. Dr. Romano has studied at many of the most famous centers for continuing dental education, and with some of the most respected educators in the field. After graduation from UMDNJ-​NJ Dental School, Dr Romano continued his education at The Pankey Institute, with Dr. Peter Dawson. Dr. Romano trained with Dr. Carl Misch, a leader in the field of Dental Implants. Dr. Romano is also a Clinical Instructor at the prestigious Kois Center for Dental Excellence in Seattle, Washington. As a Clinical Instructor, he helps facilitate intensive 3-​day workshops on topics that help dentists understand how to provide comprehensive esthetic dentistry in a manner that increases predictability and longevity of treatment, while reducing the patients risk for requiring additional dental treatment.

I’m so happy to say we have truly found our new family dentist and his name is Dr. Romano!
From the minute you walk in you can feel the warmth. Staff is extremely polite and efficient. There is an obvious standard of care that is mandated to work here because everyone is phenomenal. Booking an appointment was easy.
Dr. Romano and staff are highly informative. Dr. Romano gave us a detailed analysis of our current dental health. He broke down the plan of care and explained ways of promoting better dental health. The dental hygienist is very thorough and patient with the teaching and after each visit u get a goody bag.
What I respect the most is Dr. Romano’s honesty, he didn’t try to hustle us into costly services that weren’t necessary thanks Dr. Romano! See u in 6mo.

My entire family has been coming to Dr Romano for several years now. My wife first found him for sedation dentistry and he took such wonderful care of her that she insisted the rest of the family come here!
I normally do not provide recommendations, much less for someone in the medical/​dental fields. However, in Dr Romano’s case, the experience and care you consistently receive as a patient is simply excellent. The staff is welcoming and professional, and your care and comfort are obviously very important to them. The office is also very much on the forward edge of technology which I very much appreciate.
Simply said, we drive over an hour for our appointments with Dr Romano. There are many dentists that are closer, but none that compare! Do yourself a favor and try him out. I’m always amazed how pleasant a trip to the dentist can be!

I have sleep apnea and snore, probably since the last 15 – 20 years. I have had multiple sleep studies found to confirm the apnea. My wife can has confirmed to me that I snore.
I have tried a CPAP device to remedy the apnea multiple times, as recently as 2013. I found I did not like either the idea of wearing that contraption for the rest of my life, not did I like the feel of the device itself. I could not get used to air blowing into my airway all night or the headpiece.
After pushing for other options, I was recommended to go to Dr. Romano as it looked like I might be a candidate to use an oral appliance. I had tried one of the cheap «do it yourself» appliances you see in the back of magazines a few years back, with no effect on my snoring let alone my apnea.
I went to see Dr. Romano in 2014 and he felt based on the results from the sleep studies that an oral appliance might help me. Dr Romano fitted me with an oral appliance designed to address both the apnea and the snoring. It was a painless process to get fitted.
As of March 2014, I started wearing the device. After about four weeks he did another sleep study (a simple process you can do at your home) to confirm the results. The result have been very positive, both from the quantitative apnea data he tested me on, as well as the qualitative data I have been collecting myself since I started wearing it.
My wife tells me my snoring is almost completely gone, even when I’m on my back (when I used to snore the most). Overall, I have been sleeping better and felling better in the morning. My sleep apnea index is down almost 68%. The number of times in a night when my oxygen level falls below the acceptable level is down 93%. As part of the treatment program I signed up for, Dr Romano is working with me to see if we can take those apnea numbers down even further.
I consider the oral appliance a big success, and want to thank Dr. Romano for his work. This solution may not be from everyone, but if you suffer from sleep apnea or snore, I would suggest going for a consultation with Dr. Romano to see if you are a candidate. He uses modern tools and techniques, so he should be able to quickly determine if he thinks he can help you.

I moved to NJ about 4 years ago and of course I did a wonderful job of putting off the task of finding a quality dentist in the area. I had the same «family» dentist my entire life, so I was a bit apprehensive about going to a new one. After finally realizing 4 years without going to see a dentist is unacceptable, I stated searching the internet for reviews. I found Dr. Romano, who seemed to have wonderful reviews, so I figured I would give him a try. When I called to schedule an appointment, I found that it was very simple and accommodating. They used text messaging and email (or however you prefer) to confirm the appointments, which I liked. The office was spotless, the staff was amazing, Dr Romano is very thorough and knowledgeable. I was very impressed the dental hygienist who worked on my teeth (we also had some great laughs). I not only HIGHLY recommend this dentist, I am actually looking forward to my next visit.

I used to live in NJ and wish I still did so I could see Dr. Romano, I’m very tempted to fly from LA 2x a year just for my Dentist visits. He is as good as it gets!
