I love doctor O’Neill and the staff at Panacea. They focus on efficiency and detail, sometimes at the expense of personality. They never over schedule, so there’s never a tangible wait at any step in the process. So unlike other practices where it’s 30 minutes to get called. Another 20 in room waiting for nurse. Then yet more waiting for doctor. The front office staff, as noted in other reviews, can seem cool and distant, but they mind the details and keep the whole system working

The rudest staff and doctor you will ever meet!!! They do not care about their patient they only care about the money!!! Everything has a price!!! Mary his wife who works in the office screams at patients!!! His daughter and son who also work in the office make fun of patients laughing at them and trash talk patients as soon as they walk out the door!!! The nurses are new every time you go in and are rude as well!!! This is the most incompetent and the rudest bunch of people that I have ever met!!! They are all unprofessional and have no compassion for anyone!!! They heard you in like cattle, he spends no more than 4 munutes with any patient and they heard you out!!! The doctor is extremely rude and has no bed side manner. He is very matter of fact and makes no effort to hide the fact that he doesn’t care for his patients at all!!! He very much pushes his drug reps meds on every one whether you need it or not he will run a barrage of tests on you to bill insurance! He is also in need of updating his knowledge on new medications and conditions!!! I CANNOT stress enough how UNCARING, RUDE, NASTYANDHATEFULTHISENTIREOFFICEIS! IFYOUCAREABOUTYOURHEALTHGOSOMEWHEREELSE!!! THEREISNOTONE person in the office that cares about your health!!! FINDANOTHERDOCTOR! !!! RUN!!! RUNASFASTASYOUCANFAR, FARAWAYFROMTHISPLACE !!!

I love dr Oneal. Great w my kids! However the front desk is lacking in general kindness and courtesy on the phone and in person. I’m hanging in there though bc I can usually get in and out quickly. But if you’re looking for a warm fuzzy welcome this isn’t the place friend.

Just like the previous reviewer said about the receptionist. She is horrible. I just moved into the area & was trying to setup a quick appointment & was told they weren’t seeing any new patience until May. Then she quickly rushed me off the phone before I could even set it up.

I decided to give them a try based on a review here on Unilocal. When I called to make an appointment, the gentleman I talked to was so helpful and nice. He answered all my questions and directed me to their website. Then when I went to the appointment, the receptionist had a major attitude and ended up questioning me about some things that was the doctor’s place to question. She relayed my situation to the doctor wrong and before I was able to see him, she said the doctor didn’t want to do the exam. I never saw the doctor or spoke with him. He should have so that he got the correct information and so we could discuss it. I ended up walking out of there after asking them to shred all my paperwork. Where was the nice guy I talked to on the phone?!

Dr. O’Neill told us more information about how to handle a medical situation than our daughter’s old pediatrician. We decided, after the other doctor left things out in the treatment plan, to switch to Dr. O’Neill exclusively. We now use him for the whole family. Dr. O’Neill is very knowledgeable and he’s a little soft spoken. He cuts to the chase and doesn’t waste time. He will answer any questions you have. He doesn’t over prescribe medication. He’s very intelligent and very courteous. He has good bedside manner, as well. Our old pediatrician would prescribe antibiotics, steroids, and breathing treatments for a simple allergic cough or cold. He doesn’t over medicate. Thank God. He also caught that she needed another varicella vaccine when the other doctor did not. They have someone to take blood in house. They also have an x-ray machine, so you don’t have to go to a hospital for x-rays. They recently moved down the street and have a brand new building that is very spacious. They have a large waiting area and a bathroom right off of that. It’s very clean and nicely decorated. Simple and yet tasteful. Other than that, so far, he’s the best overall doctor we’ve found since we moved here from GA. Before him, I was wondering if Northern Alabama had any good doctors, because of our experiences with so many before him, that were bad. They are now at 104 Spenryn Drive in Madison. That’s literally 2 buildings down from their old location. Just to the left of the daycare. They are called Panacea O’Neill Medical Group now. You can find out more on their website
