Mauries Fine Chocolates creates exquisite artisanal chocolates made with passion, pride and creativity. Each individual truffle, with dark chocolate ganache infused with natural fruits, teas and spices is surrounded by a thin layer of our 72% chocolate. We freshly roast our own almonds, pecans, cashews, macadamias; make our own caramel and English toffee, and enrobe Wisconsin cranberries, cherries, orange peel, & Buderim ginger. History
Established in 1993.
The shop is named after Cher’s dad, Maurie. Since his death in 1991. as a second generation chocolatier, she has continued to use his original recipes, along with developing a unique approach to tempering, flavour infusion, art chocolate design and origin chocolate use.
Maurie, had principles:
* Be generous in spirit and behavior.
* Use the highest quality ingredients.
* Never rush the process.
* Keep Maurie’s chocolate recipes a family secret.
He loved experimenting with new ideas and flavor combinations, and eventually created his own repertoire of recipes. His kindness, humility and his exquisite chocolates became legendary. Maurie perfected his recipes and entrusted them to no one except his wife and daughters. Cher opened her shop on Monroe Street in Madison, Wisconsin in 1993. Like her dad, carefully hand casts the chocolates, experiments with new flavors, and in loving memory to Maurie, strives to follow his life principles.
