History

Established in 2003.

Life Skills Self Defense was established in Northern VA in 2003. We teach the Jhoon Rhee TKD curriculum. Since Mr. Chung is the nephew of Grand Master Jhoon Rhee (Father of Tae Kwon Do in USA, Better known for his «Nobody Bothers Me» commercials) he has over 40 years experience in the Martial Arts field.

Business Owner

Mr. Gene Chung is a Martial Art Instructor. He has been practicing the art of Tae Kwon Do for over 40 years. His Uncle and Grand Master is the renowned Martial Artist Jhoon Rhee. Mr. Chung was currently the owner of Life Skills Self Defense in Annandale, VA. His passion and gift is in instructing young children from the ages of 5 to 12 years of age. His program has been a successful Life mentoring curriculum in the Northern Virginia area. He has personally taught over five hundred students in the past seven years. Mr. Chung’s Life Skills program enables parents to use Martial Arts as a disciplinary measure at their home. Mr. Chung encourages the young children to do well in school and to behave with respect to their parents. Mr. Chung has developed a check and balance system which encourages the children to behave and excel at the same time. Mr. Chung is the Father of 3 children. All of his children are Honor Roll kids at school. He has come to Madison, VA seeking a more
