File 13 E-Waste Solutions

My boyfriend had an old flat panel television to dispose of so we took a little drive out to File 13. The recycling process is easy:
— head into the office
— they’ll open the garage door for you to drive in to unload your goods
— place the item (s) on the scale
— pay per pound for what you’re getting rid of (if it’s not one of the many, many free items)
TVs are 35 cents per pound; the total came out to $ 14. It was a bit more than recycling through the city ($ 10 flat fee) but significantly cheaper than Best Buy ($ 25 flat fee). Also, the woman who helped us said they recycle in the US — the items are not getting shipped off as trash and pollutants to other countries.
There’s no appointment necessary for drop-​offs, and they also offer a pickup service.
In the office they have several refurbished computer monitors and laptops for sale at a deep discount compared to retail; if you’re in the market for these items it’s probably not a bad idea to check them out if you’re flexible in what you need.
Super nice people and you can dispose of your things in a way that is as environmentally friendly as possible.

Love these guys! I have been going here for years. It’s nice to know that your old stuff is being recycled and not just dumped in a landfill.

I picked up two large monitors at File 13 for $ 15 each and they work great! Also, I was able to drop off a couple TVs and other electronics for recycling. They are easy to find and even easier to work with. A great place.

My boyfriend decided to clean out his garage, which included getting rid of a ridiculous amount of computer odds and ends. Found this place online and couldn’t be happier with it. These monitors, keyboards, etc. were covered in cobwebs, dust, and who knows what else. The guy that met me at the door appeared really excited for everything that was in my car and was more than happy to help unload my packed SUV. Best part, IT WAS FREE!!! Would absolutely use again.
