Specialties
Covenant of the Cross is an independent, Christian Church that seeks to have a positive, welcoming environment for all people. We dream of the day when we will embody all the diversity that our community holds. We think this is best accomplished by focusing on our relationships with God, each other and those around us. As a positive, people-affirming church, all are welcome in our family.
History
Established in 2002.
After serving as a MCC leader, Pastor Greg took a leap of faith to begin his own ministry. Starting as a small living room group, after a few months, a house couldn’t hold this group. The seed group took their ministry and purchased 916 Old Hickory Boulevard in Madison. The modest home with a 100 seat aluminum church building attached remained the facility for the church until November 2008 when they moved into the former Madison Movie theater on Gallatin Pike. The current facility is a state-of-the-art center seating over 400 congregants. An additional 3000 square foot retail space houses the church’s offices, kitchen, children’s church and fellowship space. It also houses the ministry’s heavily used food pantry, feeding 100s of families each month.
