History

Established in 1962.

Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream initially opened its doors in 1962 as the Chocolate House, a candy and ice cream shoppe founded by Chuck Sr. and Nancy Deadman. Senior and Nancy built their business with the goal of making the best sweets around, and started every batch of ice cream with Wisconsin cream, cane sugar, and real flavorings.

Today, Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream is run by Senior and Nancy’s two sons, Chuck Jr. and Dave, and has grown from a modest selection of 19 flavors to over 100, and supplies ice cream to over 300 independently owned shoppes as well as four company owned parlors. Through all it’s growth, Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream still holds true to the Deadman’s original recipe and commitment to real ingredients and quality.
