Children’s Dental Center provides specialized and comprehensive pediatric dental care for infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special needs in a friendly, gentle, and safe environment.

History

Established in 1999.

Children’s Dental Center was established on July 1, 1999 when Dr. Tim Kinzel and Dr. Eric teDuits became partners to offer a pediatric dental office to Madison and the surrounding areas.

Their goal was to establish an office where families could feel confident that their child was in a safe, «kid-​friendly» environment, and that they were receiving the best possible care.

Dr. Dan DeJarlais became a partner in 2001 and is known by his patients as «the singing dentist».

Dr. Allison Dowd became a partner in 2005 and was the first female pediatric dentist in the Madison area.

Both doctors share in the founding goals of Children’s Dental Center and have been able to expand the magnitude of patients we care for and continue to help the underserved.

In 2010, Dr. Tony Hernandez joined our team and expanded our access with an east Madison location.

Dr. Hernandez brings yet another dimension to Children’s Dental Center by offering in-​office sedation to our patients.

Business Owner

Dr. Cecelia «Cece» Thompson joined Children’s Dental Center of Madison in July 2014. She and her staff strive to create positive experiences for their young patients as they receive excellent dental care.

Dr. Cece completed her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Marquette University’s School of Dentistry, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She practiced general dentistry in Madison prior to attending and earning a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Buffalo and Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, Buffalo, New York. Dr. Cece is active with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Wisconsin Dental Association, and Dane County Dental Association.

Dr. Cece grew up in Madison and was a high school math teacher in the Madison area prior to pursuing her career in dentistry. Dr. Cece and her family are ecstatic to be back home and to place solid roots in Wisconsin! Her husband, Christopher, and their children enjoy spending their time in the beau
