Our projects range from room additions and small projects to whole home design even including site planning. Bouril Design Studio is a full service design firm providing architectural, interior design and master planning services to a wide range of residential, commercial, and health care clients.

Whatever the project, our first step is to understand our clients, their needs and how they live. This drives the design and we work as a team to create beautiful, functional and cost effective buildings. Our ultimate goal as architects is to provide the results that are needed for our clients be successful in their own pursuits.

As a child growing up in Manitowoc, WI, Robert Bouril was never satisfied unless he was building something. Yesterday’s erector sets and Lincoln logs have become today’s three-​dimensional modeling tools and data-​based software.

Bob turned his childhood passion for building into Bouril Design Studio, a Madison-​based architectural and interior design firm specializing in residential, waterfront homes and cabins. In over two decades of architectural design, BDS has never used a duplicate floor plan, copied a façade, or recreated a courtyard.

Each design is crafted specifically to each client’s particular lifestyle. Clients undergo an extensive pre-​design questionnaire detailing room-​by-​room lifestyle analysis. The pre-​design also factors in a site visit to determine best way to integrate the home with the unique character of each site. «Good architecture must grow from the region, the climate, and the geography of the site as well as the functional needs of the client,» Bob asserts.
