History

Established in 1998.

The company started in 1998 doing home inspections and in 2003 started offering home energy audit through the Focus on Energy program. Now using the whole house approach we offer energy audits as well as insulation, air sealing and ventilation services in a customer service driven focus.

Since starting the company in 1998. My main focus has always been customer service. I enjoy educating & working with building owners during the testing and improvements stages, so that they understand what can be done and why to address the concerns they come to us with regarding their buildings. I strive to do what sometimes can be the littlest things that other are unwilling to do like returning calls, showing up on time and offering a great service at a fair price.

It is a pleasure to be the first to review Accredited Home Performance Testing and the local owner, Scott.
I own an older home in Madison, WI and found Scott through a referral of a trusted handyman. Scott is very passionate about his work and is one of the most honest and thorough contractor’s that I’ve had the pleasure of working with.
Our home had a number of energy inefficiencies and Scott was able to identify the problems and help introduce us to contractor’s that provided energy work (primarily insulation work). I like the idea of having a separate contractor assessing the scope of the problems and making recommendations and separate contractors to actually provide the work.
Scott also provides post-​testing to help ensure that the energy work is done properly.
Scott provides a detailed written report after the initial energy assessment which outlines specific recommendations based on priority. He was orders of magnitude more thorough than any of the big name insulation companies that I interviewed.
Ultimately, the energy work completed on our home was dramatically improved thanks to Scott’s involvement. As an added bonus, we were able to qualify for Focus on Energy rebates that helped keep the cost of the project down. Scott was equally knowledgeable about Focus on Energy.
