Ian did a great job assisting me in purchasing my Ghost Trigger connector for my Glock 43. The other gentlemen were just as helpful as I checked out other gear during my visit. The range was acceptable, but a little cool inside. I would recommend this place to a friend.

Just a review of the indoor range, I haven’t bought anything from Double Action yet. Excellent neighbor indoor shooting range. 100 ft range with about 10 lanes, well ventilated and lit. Prices are reasonable ($ 24/​hr for rifle, $ 19/​hr for pistol). Someplace local to go to for a little shooting therapy. Will repeat and recommend!

For the area this is probably the best option that I know of considering it is an indoor range the hours have become more sporadic and they close a lot earlier then most ranges now but I do know the owner is getting older and they either don’t want to or don’t have to stay open as much .they are closed quite frequently .I have been to the range numerous times over the years and have always had good experiences but it is definitely the old school range .they have a full archery range pistol range and rifle range it is one of the few full service shops still around that you can get supplies for reloading multiple holsters and a good gunsmith I will say the easiest way to describe this place is if you used to go shooting with your dad the walls and ceilings are yellow from the years of nicotine with all the guys smoking behind the counter the owner al used to sit at the rifle range side with a scowl on his face and look mildly imposing once you got to know him he was a big teddy bear the one thing that I grew to respect about this place and it takes a lot for me to say is they are honest unlike most ranges they do not fill in their lack of knowledge with what they do not know with BS if al did not know an answer he would say I don’t know but call me tomorrow and I’ll have an answer for you this is extremely rare in this line of business unfortunately and when you come across this level of honesty you learn to appreciate and respect it. the only thing I would say is they always been kind of high priced. Especially with new ranges popping up a lot lately when inexperienced staff starts to fill in the blank with a assumptions and you have novice shooters looking for genuine guidance this can be catastrophic as long as you’re not looking for the Ritz this is a good choice

Absolutely garbage, hostile staff and a hostile environment this is coming from an active duty military member, who handles firearms weekly. Definitely will never take my business here again.

Recently, I had a lackluster experience with Double Action. Some of the staff has changed and the customer service has improved.
I just wish the facilities were a bit more updated.

I recently purchased a shotgun from Double Action. It was a smooth transaction and the particular staff member was very helpful and answered all the questions I asked. I had lots of questions too since it was my first time buying a gun of any kind.
What did I buy? A Mossberg 590a1 SPX which comes with ghost ring rear sights, m16 style fiber optic front sight and an M9 bayonet, just to name a few things. It is a bad ass lead eatin’ piece.

This is my neighborhood range. Bought all my guns here. Staff is great, Ian has been very helpful in showing me the different handguns to fit my needs. The ranges are clean, most everyone cleans up there spent brass and cleans the counters off. Friendly customers too. I was having a hard time with a gun I had never shot before and rented it to see if I wanted to buy it or not. A nice couple in the lane next to me saw I was having a hard time and offered to help. I was shooting like a pro in no time. They sell just about everything you can think of. Bought my EOTech here for my AR and love it. I only wish they had a concealed carry clothing section. But that would take up a lot of real estate. Anyway drop on in sometime, it’s a great neighborhood range and pro shop.

I really enjoyed going to the shooting range this one is one of the ones that are closer to me and offer handgun rental and the staff was more than willing to help and give their suggestions my only complaint is that the shooting range was absolutely freezing which space heaters were available but did not help much if you’re going to come here to shoot I recommend in the winter bringing full winter attire to keep yourself warm. I will be back again everybody made me feel comfortable and not judgemental. This is my spot!

Visited Double Action to use the range for the first time. Their price on .223 ammo was reasonable. Staff was very helpful. I was having an issue with a rifle that I recently purchased and was unfamiliar with, I stepped out of the range asked if someone could help me out and someone came out pretty quickly and was able to show me what I was doing wrong right away.

Went to Dick’s Sporting Goods last night for the Thanksgiving sale; wasn’t impressed:(
Did pick up a 30 – 06 rifle with scope (Savage Arms) that they didn’t even want to initially adjust.
Found out that Double Action had an indoor rifle range. The guys zeroed my scope, showed me how to handle the weapon, taught me rules about transporting, and made me feel as if I had just purchased the new Mustang GT from them! Good customer service guys! Told my family members about the experience (lot of gun women in the family). Will definitely be back!

This is, by a significant margin, my favorite range to shoot in the Metro-​Detroit area. They seem to watch the patrons a lot closer than other ranges and don’t tolerate any behaviors that would be annoying or unsafe to other shooters. Plus, despite being an older range it’s always clean and you’re not tripping over brass. Even when they’re busy they do a great job of moving you through. Ammo prices are a little on the higher side but they almost always have what you need, even in the current environment of shortages and increased demand. Nice selection of firearms too and the staff is always happy to chat and share their opinion.

This is my favorite gun shop in the area. They dont try to make you feel uncomfortable but also make sure you take things seriously. Like a gun shop should. I once had hard times and had to sell a handgun to them and was offered a good price.

Superb place for shooting range !! Of course this is my first time here. I love to visit this place @least once a month. I m just a beginner and don’t know how to shoot .
The guy in the double action taught us how to hold a gun, how to load the bullets and all the tips. Stood behind us all the time, watching us and teaching us is the best part!
We took smith and Wesson AR15. I felt it is good because this just second time for shooting range !!
I highly recommend this place to beginners.

I have found the staff friendly and knowledgable. I just read that the going rate for 9 mm range ammo is $ 30. Holy Crap. That would stop me dead in my tracks. My biggest gripe is the safety violations I see that go unnoticed and/​or unaddressed. You can’t be a range officer and run a cash register too. I was there about six weeks ago and noticed that gun prices were as bad as Gander Mtn. which is often $ 75-​$ 100 more than the going rate. I shoot twice per week and buy 4 guns per year. I don’t do it here.

Nice place. Sean is extremely nice and helpful, he helped my friends and me figure out what pistol best fits each individual person. There is not a huge variety of products but I’m sure they can always help you get what you are looking for. The range is well ventilated and it was an all around good time. I deffinately be going back and introducing other friends to this range.

I ordered a gun online, and was told that double action is a great place to receive your guns from. They told me the transfer fee is $ 75.I am a military member asked for a military discount, and they chopped it down to $ 50. not mad at the point that it cost that much. But I had my girlfriend call and they gave her a 10 times lower price, had a friend called and they gave him a lower price as well. I would have to say they have lost a customer. I called up there and spoke with a manager and he said that some of the people don’t know about the change. I felt that it was sexist and raciest. All so felt like he was adamant and did not want to help. I would have to say they lost a customer

As a country girl living in the city, I find D.A. Is one of my favorite indoor ranges around. I shoot a bow, handguns and shotguns as a long time hunting enthusiast, so I choose D.A. for the good ventilation, long 50 yard range, and serious and knowledgable staff. It’s a great place to keep my skills as a marksman sharp on the off season. What I really like about this place is that they respect me as a woman customer and do not treat me different. They have a great variety of guns for rent and for sale. I bought my sig 232 from DA and was very happy with it, but my weapon of choice is a good old 22 gauge shotgun. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the long wait times and the fact that they don’t enforce the rules very well — there’s a lot of people in there fooling around that shouldn’t be, and some like to fire off continuous rounds and it’s annoying.

Love this place it’s not a far drive. Sweet guns good helpful staff will b back really soooooon :)

I don’t know what some other people are refering to in terms of having issues with the staff, and frankly I am shocked at the low amount of stars awarded to this store and range.
We have spent a great amount of time here, consulting with one of their representatives in regards to weapon choices, pros and cons with different handguns and tons of other miscellaneous questions and concerns we had. Pat was the gentleman helping us out, and he is one of the most knowledgeable and friendly people I have come across lately. He answered all of our questions and taught us a lot of different things during the time spent with him.
I have to say that other than Pat we have had contact with about four other guys here as well, and all were equally friendly and patient.
Some other stores have a tendency to make you feel unwelcome and honestly quite stupid. I don’t understand their attitude about not wanting to deal with people that have questions, yet not being willing to explain anything.
This store is the first place where we felt welcome, respected and valued as a potential customer versus a hassle, and we have been to many in the Metro Detroit area. No snootiness here, and that is why we will be customers for a long time to come.

They have 2 shooting ranges. One for handguns (50 feet) and the other is for rifles and alike (100 feet). The range prices are good. They don’t charge you extra if you have an extra person on the lane. I shoot here but have yet to purchase a firearm from them. This place can get really busy but I have no problems with these guys at all.
