Rooms are really spacious and nice, staff helpful. A nice place even without snow. A great place for a conference!!!

I was here for a wedding a few months ago as a bridesmaid. The grounds are beautiful and the staff was very courteous and professional. This is definitely an beautiful venue for someone looking for a rustic/​country style wedding.
We ate at the café for lunch the one day and our food was really good. Also the service was friendly as well. There were two hotel bars that my friends and I enjoyed.
The pool and hot tub area were nice (although we found the hot tub to be slightly too hot). Our room was expensive, nice… but nothing special. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to check out the spa. So I cannot comment on that.
As far at the venue was concerned, everything was decorated beautifully. The staff did a great job. My one suggestion would be for the ladies room to have free sanitary products. It is highly possible that someone in the bridal party would have a need for that. – Considering that if you’re in the hustle and bustle of a wedding/​are likely not carrying a purse, you may find it inconvenient to have these items on your person. Please consider providing for the wedding attendants.

This review is for the spa at Bear Creek. My sister and I got massages here last weekend. First of all, I will say that it is definitely the best of what’s around! Our husbands were playing golf in Bethlehem and we were trying to find a full service spa nearby — not an easy task!!!
Reservations were easy and pleasant. Make sure to arrive 10 minutes early just to get from your car to the spa. Call ahead if you have any mobility issues, as there are two sets of stairs between the spa parking and the spa itself. We got there, did our paperwork and were immediately ushered back into the spa by a lovely attendant. She showed us around and gave us (super soft, luxurious) robes and slippers. We got lockers and spent the hour before in the steam room and outdoor hot tub. The outdoor hot tub area is a little weird. There is a small deck with chairs and tables to place your robes and drinks, but it is roped off from the hot tub in such a way that you have to walk all the way around it to get from the hot tub to your robe and vice versa.
My massage was heavenly. Amanda gave me 80 minutes of pure bliss. Definitely get 80 minutes if you get a massage. It’s worth it. Only $ 125 for 80 minutes at this quality of spa is a REALLY GOOD DEAL!!! When my sister came out, she also had that glazed, happy look, and said, «that may have been the best massage of my life.» We got our complimentary glass of wine (we chose Riesling — it was delightful!) and basked in our relaxed state.
We spent our hour (we went over, but no one cared) afterward at the outdoor pool, which was super lovely. We got lunch there, I got a spinach and mushroom quesadilla that was really good.
The only reason I took off one star is for the showers. Personally, I feel that the spa shower is a very important element. They have rain showers, but they are old and poorly maintained. They make a horrible noise when you turn them on, and rather than raining down, the water squirts in every direction, as it does when limescale buildup on the heads causes pressure and direction difficulties.
Overall, I think this place is wonderful, and I will be back! Hopefully they do something about the showers in the meantime. They have the space to make them really fantastic. I look forward to my next visit!

Bear Creek is an oasis hidden in the Macungie mountains. It’s a wonderful area with great hikes, mountain biking trails, and my guess, decent ski slopes in the winter. I enjoyed most of my time at Bear Creek resort where I stayed with my wife and young children for 2 nights. The indoor and outdoor pools are definitely kid-​friendly and safe. The Grille serves really good food esp. the fish taco, crab chowder, and scallop pasta. Make reservations because being a guest at the hotel does not guarantee you a seat at this fine restaurant — this was what the manager cockily told me.
The room and people who book these rooms are not so good. As soon I got there, I noticed the low-​humming sound coming from outside the window. They were large industrial fans (6 of them) constantly blowing and creating this low-​level noise that you cannot ignore. Manager said they were booked so she can’t move me. So that night was unbearable because of the fan noise. The next day, I pleaded again at around 10 a.m. to be moved somewhere. I figured 10 a.m. would be good because people would not have checked in at that time and I can get another room. Again, I was told they were booked. I invited them to come stay in the room and hear for themselves. No action taken. They gave me a nice sorry. For you all out there, there are 2 sets of large industrial fans (numbering 6 – 8 each set) right outside certain sections of the hotel. Make sure you check the noise before they even deliver your bags to the room. I would have given a higher rating to this hotel had I actually slept enough before writing this review. If I get a better room next time, I would consider visiting again.

We just had our wedding ceremony and dinner here and we couldn’t have asked for a better place! Our event planner, Therese, was FABULOUS from the very start of my wedding planning. She answered every question and inquiry I had RIGHT AWAY!
The ceremony was at the outside location, Mountain Courtyard, and it was just beautiful. So much so that I didn’t even need to bring anything of my own to decorate it! Of course this is in June so there was enough of nature’s beauty to make it beautiful! We then had MANY amazing photos taken around the property with our photographer for awhile until we joined our family in The Grille for the wedding dinner. We had a very small, intimate wedding so that is why we held the «reception» in The Grille. Once again, the staff at The Grille that evening was extremely attentive and wonderful to our entire group! They took care of us from start to finish! The food was delicious, the kept refreshing our drinks without even asking, constantly asked us if we needed anything (including myself and my groom), took care of our wedding cake cutting and packaging up any leftovers of our cake (WHICH was brought in from an outside vendor!!) so that was really nice of them to take care of our cake for us.
Afterwards, my new husband and I stayed in one of the suites which was wonderful! We loved it! It was clean and wonderful with a great view! They even had rose petals and a box of chocolates on our bed with towel animals! What a cute touch for us as newlyweds! We then ate breakfast at the Trails End Café the next morning and that food was extremely delicious as well! VERY prompt service too! And the wait staff there was VERY friendly and our waitress even chatted with us about our stay there and congratulated us on our wedding!
From the moment we walked in the door that day until the next morning when we left, we felt very welcome and very well taken care of! Thank you to all at Bear Creek! We will continue to return to Bear Creek for many years to come!

I rented out a house with my family in the Poconos this January and decided to take my children here to ski. The mountain was beautiful and my experience with the skiing was amazing! Though Camelback Mountain is a bit better and much bigger, I really enjoyed spending the day here with my kids. I was able to move up from blue to black diamond and I had some nice competition my children who got left behind on blue. I was able to teach them how to ski much better here and they will always have great memories to remember!

Spent a weekend here attending a conference… a great time! The service was phenomenal — smiling, efficient employees who made sure we all had what we needed. All of the food was phenomenal — from a dessert buffet Friday night to three meals on Saturday (a seated dinner plus two buffets), they easily accommodated food allergies without a hint of trouble.
We had a one bedroom suite which was laid out great… comfortable & clean. But marking it down a star because the rooms really need a refurb. All of the furniture was pretty beat up… probably from 5+ years of families enjoying long ski weekends and the finishes were wearing.

Beautiful resort with a wonderful staff and plenty of activities to enjoy! This is the ideal place to stay with friends because both beginners and experts will have a blast! I would highly recommend Bear Creek to any friends group, family, or couple!

I was here for a day full of skiing (on Valentine’s Day) with 6 other people and had a blast! We have all been skiing before but had never been to Bear Creek. I hadn’t skied in 7 years before this trip so I liked how the bunny slope was easily accessible to anyone and everyone all day long. Since I have skied enough in my past I did not need the lessons but liked how the slope wasn’t closed when lessons were going on. I thought the placement of different chairlifts were kind of confusing. We could not figure out where certain chairlifts were that took us up certain slopes. We brought our lunch so I cannot comment on the food at the resort but liked how we could still eat in the same area without feeling forced to purchase their food. I did not get any of my equipment from there either so cannot comment on that but my sister did have to rent boots (due to hers being misplaced). The resort was great with sizing her boots up with the skis she had with her. We all cannot wait for our next trip back to Bear Creek! Thanks for the great memories!!!

This review is specific to the staff giving snowboard lessons. I have been ann avid skier for years but wanted to give snowboarding a try.
With a snowboard rental, group lesson and «discovery» lift ticket — meaning I could only go on a limited amount of lifts. Total came to about $ 94.
While I was assigned to the group lesson, I was one of the few there so I got one-​on-​one attention. The lessons work assembly line style as you go from one instructor to another learning the basics. My first instructor was just 14 or so. He meant well and seemed nice, but I found it frustrating I had to keep asking him to repeat what he said as he mumbled a lot. He might be better in a few years, but he needs some more training now. Next instructor was a little better, spoke clearly and overall did a good job. My final instructor was at the top of the bunny hill and didn’t seem very interested in being at work. He seemed bored and that I was inconveniencing him. I worked with a couple other more experienced instructors who did a much better job at conveying the goal. Overall it was a good first day and I look forward to trying snowboarding again soon.

This place gets 5 stars for effort. I have taken the kids here over the past few years (ages 7 – 11) mostly for the snowboarding, but also for an overnighter at the lodge. It is a really nice looking resort with good facilities and friendly staff. The midweek ski and stay deal was great. We stayed last year to get snowed in for a big snow storm that never materialized, but we had a blast. We had planned on hitting the outdoor heated pool, but we stayed on the slopes all night instead and were too beat to do anything but head back to our room after having dinner at their sit-​down restaurant. Service at the the restaurant was good and food was a nice surprise, but nothing exceptional.
This is a smaller mountain, but the snow conditions are always decent and lift lines never seem to be out of hand.
Friday nights can get a little crazy as many ski clubs come from all over. We try to get on the slopes as early as possible, get some good runs in and beat the crowds.
The kids love it and the service has always been good — from the cafeteria dining, to the hotel staff, to the ski patrol — hence the nice rating.

It is a very nice resort for families. If you are a more advanced skier do not waste your time here. Resort is very nice and drinks are reasonably priced. I will admit the signage here is very poor, easy to get lost or confused doing anything. I also find it odd that on the slopes you can ride a black diamond but the lift it funnels you to does not allow you to ski the same black diamond. Poor design. Overall a great place to bring the kids and fam. A little pricey at 99 lift ticket and rentals but that’s life.

Stayed here for a friend’s wedding 11÷8÷2014.
This was my first time to Pennsylvania, and we flew into the Philly Airport. We rented a car because the resort is about an hour drive from the airport.
When we arrived at 11pm on Friday night, we went to check-​in. The lady at the front desk greeted me by name (likely because I was the only check-​in remaining). She had some difficulty with the computer system in logging us in and had to call someone to walk her through the process.
The next day we got up and went to breakfast at the Trail’s End Café. My wife and I each had some eggs, bacon, toast, and hashbrowns. The food was very good, and it came out quickly.
After breakfast we walked around the resort (inside only). It is very nice and looks to be recently renovated. They have an indoor and an outdoor pool. The indoor pool looks like it needs some work, but the outdoor pool looks great.
Our room was really big for the 2 of us, but that’s what I get for waiting until the last minute to make a reservation. The room was very nice and looked to be newly decorated.
The wedding was outside (brrr), but the backdrop was beautiful. We had a great time dancing to the band at the wedding, and the dinner was excellent.

This review is specific to the Trails End Café and a wedding held at Bear Creek. Initially, the design of the resort makes for a maze like atmosphere. As you make your way through the maze that is the Bear Creek Mountain Resort you are continually forced to ask staff members for directions and or wonder if you are headed the right way. The entire facility could use more signage directing guests in the proper direction and or a more organized way to alert people where to go beyond a couple of LCD televisions. Overall, once you get your bearings and arrive where you need to be the site still has a new rustic meets modern ambiance.
The wedding was in the Bears Den. This large space is typically used as the main dining area during Ski season. The space has high ceilings, two large stone fire places, and some nice finishing touches. The food at the cocktail hour was standard with the hot options lacking any distinct flavors. The dinner consisted of various food stations salad, pasta, protein, and crab cake. The food was ok but besides the horse radish cole slaw nothing particularly stood out. Overall, I think that the wedding site was ok to good. However, I know that it is pricy location and therefore I expected more. It was nice but not impressive.
The following day we went to Trails End Café for breakfast. This a la cart café features some basic options for breakfast, lunch, and light snacks. Overall the staff working here were pleasant enough and the space fits the entire vibe that Bear Creek is attempting to put out. However, the prices and final products do not properly match one another. Again, I understand it is a «resort» but you quickly get the feeling that everything is about having a captive audience and they are going to charge the highest possible prices that they believe they can.
Overall, I feel like Bear Creek is more about nickel and dimming than anything else. The experience as a guest was choppy due to the confusing layout of the venue. The prices within the resort reflect those consistent with somewhere other than Macungie Pennsylvania and the overall feeling I got while at the resort was not personalized or impressive.

This is an a-​ok ski resort. the pluses are that it was new to us, and it has some interesting albeit short trails. The lift lines were not so long, and most people were pretty friendly. Some of the blacks were challenging but short, and the moguls would routinely get novices stuck which made more even more challenging skiing. If you are a helpful sort, there are plenty of people to help up and give micro lessons (don’t put your skis on when they are pointing DOWN the hill). The prices were pretty fair, particularly if you like night skiing.
A down side, and it is a real down side, is not the huge number of novice skiers, of which there were a ton, but their speed, lack of control (somewhat but not exclusively their fault), and the lack of ski patrol to tell them to slow down and to take tickets off them. We saw four (4!) toboggan rides going down where, I asked, typically the novices go too fast and crash. I also saw one ashat skating through novices on the novice hill. I ski enough to have even been on a toboggan ride, but seeing 4 in one day is more than I have seen in my life, I think. So, truly an extraordinary amount of nonsense going on.
I would go back on a weekday when it was not crowded, and I think it would a pretty good deal then.

The price for lift tickets and and snowboard rentals are fair and reasonable here. It’s a nice, quiet resort, not too many people. Calm, cold, and a great getaway from the city!
There’s a mountain nearby for snow tubing too.

I came here last weekend for my first ever (yes, ever) attempt at skiing. So bear in mind that this review comes from a first-​time skiier.
Since it was a holiday weekend, prices were steep — a 4 hour pass, ski and helmet rental totaled $ 92. They did, however, give us an extra half hour, which I appreciated because it took me at least that long to get my skis on. We got there around 8:30−9 and got great parking, not far from the slopes. The lodge is clean and looks good, plus isn’t terribly far from the base of the mountain (important when you’ve got to run to the bathroom or need to take a quick break).
There’s a nice little practice slope with a conveyor belt. It’s not long, but its fairly wide and so can accommodate a good number of people. As other reviews mentioned, the lift lines are short — in fact, most of the morning we walked right on, maybe waiting 1 or 2 minutes at most.
Overall, it was a good experience (and I survived, despite a few tumbles!) The best part is easily the convenience — it was about an hour’s drive from Conshohocken, making this an easy day trip.

I was here for a wedding the weekend after Christmas. My friends and I shared a 3 bedroom suite and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice and clean it was! I have very high standards in regards to hotel cleanliness and this place blew my expectations away. There were three bedrooms, one with a king bed and bathroom and two other bedrooms with two full beds in each and bathrooms in each. There was a living area, small kitchenette, loft and living area. As an added bonus, all of the bathrooms had Philosophy brand toiletries. The lobby and lounge area were beautiful with great views of the ski area. The food at the cocktail hour was pretty good and my entrée and salad at the wedding were fabulous. I had a wedge salad that was made with something other than iceberg (thank goodness) that I think was butter lettuce or bibb lettuce. My entrée was mushroom ravioli and it was perfectly seasoned and had a nice hint of truffle oil. Overall, this place exceeded my expectations and was a wonderful place to have a wedding!

We attended the wine and food fest here. I’d say that we were pretty unimpressed with the whole thing. Afterwards we ate since the food part of the fest was very unimpressive!

The worst part was the food demonstrations in which we were not given any to taste. We thought that was strange. The food pairing was potato chips and dips (hot sauce…) with a sip of wine… really?!?
Then last weekend we attended Octoberfest. Sounded awesome, but not so much. It was boring with subpar food. The beer was good and a good price if you splurge for the $ 12 mug that you can bring back year after year. I’m unimpressed with the events. Perhaps I should just ski and drip cocoa here?!?

Spent New Year’s Eve hear attending a wedding reception. Everyone on staff was friendly, the food was good, and they even had fireworks!
The kids would love to come back and ski and swim in the outdoor heated pool… I see a family vacation in the near future!
