Louie’s Diner

Weren’t too impressed. I went with my mother for breakfast. Our table that was «cleaned» had butter all over it. My mother unwrapped her silverware which also had butter and other dirty crusty things on it. My chocolate milk was made by adding syrup to the milk, my mothers orange juice tasted like Tang. And the food was below average. Our waitress was nice, although there were only two ladies working, not a huge crowd and they couldn’t clean off any of the tables. So many dirty tables. This place was just dirty. We were disappointed.

We stopped for lunch one Sunday when most other places in Macomb were closed. We were pleasantly surprised by the good food and service in a quaint small town diner.

I’ve been here several times, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I’ve always found the service helpful and friendly and the restaurant clean and in good order. Once or twice after a rush it took a few minutes to catch up, as isn’t unusual in any restaurant of this sort.
The food has always been good, but not always consistent. For instance, my most recent meal there was a veggie omelette with hash browns and a muffin with a side of ham. The omelette was very good; the ham, while not «off the bone» was generous and well-​prepared. The hash browns, on the other hand, were done enough but were a bit dry; that’s easy-​enough to amend.

Two star only because the food was decent.
Service should get a negative 3 if not worse.
Walked in lady at hostess/​cashier stand tells us to find some place clean and sit should have went with first instinct and left.
We sat down ordered a Diet Pepsi and a regular Pepsi same woman fills them gets to our table says she forgot which was which and told us to figure it out. WARNING 2.
While waiting to place our order watch a customer go behind the lunch counter get himself and his friend ice from the cooler there and their sodas. Customer works for NTN Bauer and has had stained with grease and oil glad I already had my drink. Where is a health inspector when you need one?
Food finally arrives we ordered breakfast skillets which to our surprise were served on a small plate instead of a skillet like normal. Food was good now seasoned but it was still decent.
After finishing eating I had to use the restroom which I have seen cleaner in a subway. Washed my hands to find out they had no paper towels or any way to dry my hands. Told the same lady they were out of to Elwes in the bathroom to which she replied «I might get to it later if I’m not busy.» There were 4 customers here at 1 in the afternoon along with 2 or 3 waitresses and the cook. How do you not have time?
