I was initially reluctant to order custom-​cut foam cushions online. There was plenty of room for error and no way of knowing in advance how comfortable the cushions would feel upon arrival. However, with my existing cushions feeling like a cement slab, I took the chance. Boy, am I glad I did!
I placed my order 2 days before Christmas and expected a several weeks delay due to the holidays. However, the cushions arrived only a week later. They were completely compressed for shipping, but immediately snapped into form as soon as I removed the packaging and plastic wrap. The cushions felt extremely plush due to the Dacron wrapping I ordered as an extra. Since they were already at full form, I didn’t need to wait the recommended several hours before use. I immediately stuffed them into my sofa covers then took the comfort test. WOW was all I could say.
The Foam Factory cushions were AMAZING and breathed new life into an old sofa. It felt like a brand new piece of furniture. The foam is high quality yet affordable, and Foam Factory even offers to beat any price you can find that’s lower. The cushions I ordered are supposed to last up to 16 years and from the way they feel, I believe it. If I ever need foam cushions in the future I won’t hesitate to order again from The Foam Factory!

I ordered a 2″ latex mattress topper and cotton cover from the Foam Factory. The item shipped in the quoted 5 – 6 business days and arrived at my door 3 days after it shipped. The topper came with the cover already installed and it fit nicely. I have now placed an order for a 3″ latex topper and 4″ of Lux HQ foam to build my custom mattress.

I recently used the Foam Factory to replace my patio furniture cushions. I had many emails and phone calls with Jen in customer service. She was excellent! Jen answered all my questions and gave me estimates. She replied quickly and in detail. My covers were still good– so I was just replacing the cushions. I decided to send the covers to their factory in Michigan so there would be no mistake in my measuring. I am very happy I did that! The work was done quickly and shipping was free. Jen followed up with me when the cushions were ready to ship.
I was very pleased how they turned out. If you are looking for a great company, with wonderful customer service then you should use Foam Factory. I am very happy I found them on the internet. They have been in busy for over 30 years and do excellent work.

The website was easy to use but the service has been awful. Ordered my foam pad on May 23^rd, was told it’ll take 5 – 6 days to ship. I called twice AFTER the 5 – 6 days and told it was shipping. It didn’t ship until June 2. I could’ve ordered it from a place 15 minutes from me here in Los Angeles but wanted to throw a Detroit business some action but never again.

Attempted to order foam. Paid by credit card. Was sent an email letting me know they required an additional $ 15 for shipping. I sent it. They said that because the address was «unconfirmed» they’d be unable to ship it to the address I requested, so they had to cancel my order. They sent me a new invoice via paypal. I paid it. They rejected it again, finally articulating that the address had to be updated on paypal. Went to the paypal site, and updated to my new address. But when I went to check out it submitted my old address again.
They still refused to send to the address I gave them in the initial order.
Connie from customer service was not helpful. Ordering system is convoluted.

The LUX-​R Foam 2 in sheet is perfect as a temporary bed. Nice and firm the way I like it. I also put a softer 1.5 in egg crate foam on top and it feels like a real bed. I love it. Shipment came after 10 business days, but it’s free shipping so I guess it will do. Will buy from you guys again.

It’s been a little under a year since we flopped a big block of foam down for my great danes. My big old man is quickly approaching 10 and weighs 125 pounds. My girl is about 100. They sleep on it together.
This stuff is incredible. It’s yet to sink or compress even a little bit. I can go jump up and down on it and it immediately takes it’s shape again. This is great stuff. I’ll be back again and again.

What I liked: 1^st call to their customer service team was pleasant.
Why I’m dissatisfied: Their return policy is, in a word, ridiculous, and the 2^nd call to their customer service team was unpleasant.
Full story: My bedroom shares a wall with neighbors on one side, and a roommate on the other. To cut down on the noise exchanged between the walls, I googled a solution. I found Foam Factory amidst my search, and called to see what type of wall-​insulation they may recommend. They pointed me in the direction of the Neoprene foam. I bought this, out of state, and hoped it would be a solution.
When it arrived to me, I put it on the wall, and unfortunately, it didn’t cut any noise at all whatsoever. So I decided to return it. A typical response to buying something online and it not working out.
I called today to process the return, and I was told that I would have to pay the shipping back to Foam Factory (understandable), a 25% restocking fee (I didn’t love this, but it’s livable), AND the initial shipping that it cost them to ship to me. I’ve never heard of such a thing. I’m pretty sure that the cost of doing online business is shipping…
Although it’s unfortunate that the purchase didn’t work out, why should I have to eat the cost of them shipping it to me? Their business model is foam-​by-​mail. I didn’t set it up that way, yet I need to be responsible for eating that cost for a product that didn’t work? After all of the fees to return the product, I’d be getting about $ 10 back. That doesn’t make sense for me as a customer.
This is a bait and switch if I’ve ever heard of one. Before you ask, yes, this policy is on their website. Their website lays out return policies for all different types of foams, not one that is specific to the Neoprene that I bought, however. But how would I have thought to look at this when I was under the impression I wouldn’t have to go through a return process? Is it unreasonable to think that I’d describe my issue over the phone prior to purchasing, and just expect the product to work after a consultation?
I’ve also seen the business reply to a Unilocal review and boast a «guarantee» for their products. Well my product didn’t meet the guarantee, but I’m only eligible to receive ¹⁄₅^th of my money back? I don’t think this makes sense.
Lastly, I’ve been waiting all day for a manager to call me back about this return shipping fee, which, to be clear, is the only thing I’m contesting. I’m happy to adhere to the exorbitantly high restocking fee, and the cost to ship the product back. I’ve waited all day, but it’s 4pm local time, and I’ve not heard anything. So now I have to take to Unilocal.
Just beware — if something doesn’t work out, you’re basically stuck with it. So buy with caution.

My mattress topper feels great. However, it’s just a standard 4lb 3″ memory foam slab. I was disappointed that although their website touts free shipping for orders over $ 75, my APO AE order (to a US zip code) was going to be $ 40. I was more disappointed when my product arrived and I saw that actual shipping charges were less than $ 14. I requested a refund of the shipping difference via paypal and email but two weeks have passed and nothing yet.
In an industry that lacks product differentiation, Foam Factory failed to meet the mark in customer service, and it was only more discouraging that they used a deployed military member to pad their profits with inflated shipping charges.

I ordered foam for my living room couch it lasted all of 2yrs normal use one would think it would should last longer. I will order new foam from another company if it reacts in the same way in the same time frame I will retract this post and apologize. I am no foam expert but come on. every other site I look at says there foam with normal use will «last the life of the fabric»

Jennifer, from Foam Factory provided great communication on a custom order foam mattress order meeting the delivery deadline she outlined. The product arrived in great packaging and didn’t have a distinct odor. I took one star away because I felt the pricing was a bit on the high scale for the product. But overall another satisfied customer.

One week from order to delivery! Best ever. Egg crate was perfect for my bed and back. Best sleep I’ve had in years. There are dents in my bed (cannot flip it) where I lie on it. This wonderful 2.5″ egg crate filled those in and allows me to sleep pain free. I love how the egg crate feels against my body. It doesn’t smell, either.

Great value for the money! We got exactly what we paid for and it was delivered on time.

We have an older couch and the cushions were really sinking. We finally decided we really needed to replace the cushions. We were able to easily use the instructions on Foam Factory’s site to measure our cushions properly for a custom order of seat cushions and cushion toppers. They arrived quickly and fit perfectly. It’s like a new couch again! We were very happy with our order, the quality and the service.

I have been cutting custom gun cases for over five years. I found foam factory and found their foam to be high quality and customer service was very helpful in guiding me to the correct foam to use. I would buy from them again.

This company is disreputable lies in the description of their latex mattress products in particular.
They say it is 100% Talalay latex and yet when I opened my box I noticed the solid look on one side (indicative of the Dunlop process). As I wanted a soft 3″ topper and was paying for Talalay I was angry and filed a BBB complaint with the Eastern Michigan chapter where Foam Factory (aka Foam by Mail) is located. FF kept reiterating their platitudes and nothing was done. BBB still has them rated as A+. Go to

Apparently mattress underground has information suggestion they are breaking the fire code laws for their mattresses as well.
If you just want the cheapest foam you can get, then this might be for you. If you have health/​environmental/​safety concerns and want truthful information from the retailer, definitely look elsewhere

I ordered from the Foam Factory website, to make a custom-​sized cushion for an entry bench I bought from a Craigslist seller. Rather than calling to talk to a human, I used the website only, which was easy enough, but reading other reviews makes me think I should have called for help to figure out what I needed (thickness, grade, dacron cover). The cushion was shipped rolled up tightly and then wrapped in scrap cardboard, which seemed a little odd, but hey, I guess that’s «green,» and the product was intact and in good condition. After laying the cushion out for a day or two, it completely flattened and showed no signs of having been smushed up for shipping.
I am happy with my purchase and would order from them again.

I am very pleased with each purchase I’ve made so far, both with the service and the products. The memory foam mattress is very comfortable and the foam mattress I used to make a hide a bed is great too!
I will be building some isolation booths for guitar and bass amplifiers soon and will be ordering some of the acoustic foam so expect another review real soon!

They have Batman sponges here! Yes, black sponges shaped like the Batman logo seen in the TV series and the Batman movies. Cheap at 25¢ & 50¢. They also had some regular sponges for everyday use around the home or office.
After my visit to their showroom the other day, the wheels started turning in my head.
I grabbed one of the well-​used cushions from my couch and took it in to see what they could do. Upon receiving a favorable quote to restuff 2 cushions, I gave them the go-​ahead on my order. They offer quick service — while you wait. The cushions are now back to original firmness — saving my couch from hittin the curb.
I intend to get some closed-​cell foam to use under the carpeting in one of my cars. It should act as a suitable sound deadener to cut down on road noise.
The sales staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. Walk over to their sales counter area and they are more than happy to assist.
