Bridge Vista Beach Hotel & Convention Center

Not a good experience with this hotel! The check in process was long and obnoxious. Sign here, initial here, date here, sign here in blood, spit in your hand and shake. 20 mins later, here’s your key. One of the two front staff was friendly. Too bad they both were not. The room was decent, Nothing more than a cheap motel 6. Two beds, a TV from the late 60’s, you get the picture. Wallpaper was peeling in many spots, the showers curtain was nearly off the wall, towels haphazardly thrown on the rack. Don’t look in the corner of the bathroom… yuck! Moldy, nasty, absolutely gross. In the hotels picture of the room on the website there was an animal created out of a towel on the bed. Let’s be clear: don’t expect that. Expect crack house motel and you may be better off. The bed? Yep. They have them. They are about as comfortable as a board. No, that’s not fair, now I’m just being jaded. It’s more akin to a board with 3 cotton balls and a sheet thrown on top.
After check-​in we headed off to the water park. Yay! It’s decent but old, dirty, peeling paint. The kids had fun. The hot tub was HOT, nearly unbearable the park doesn’t open until 12.
After the water park we headed for dinner and let the front desk know about the shower curtain and the AC wasn’t working. Returned and hour later and they assured us it was fixed. As we entered our room we weren’t certain if we were in mackinaw city or Mexico. The AC clearly was not fixed. No problem, I’ll pick up the phone and call them. Oh… the phone doesn’t work. Head down and ask if we can get moved to another room. Nope, booked (so they said). Maintenance came back up to declare it in fact was not working and would need to be replaced, at 10 pm, while my two toddlers are screaming because it’s late and hot. Front desk was RUDE and offered no other assistance or compensation.
Breakfast: it’s «hot» and a buffet. Cheap food, crazy busy in a small room, and set up really poorly (layout). They had ONE staff working. She was working. Her. Buns. Off. If you stay, leave the poor soul a tip, please. It was her job to keep all the food stocked and clear and wipe tables. Way too much for one person!
We won’t stay here ever again. Many other better choices in the city.

We didn’t stay here but came for the waterpark (5÷23−5÷24) from the Hamilton w my 7 year old he absolutely loved the waterpark the slides were just perfect the temp of the water was amazing! The guys that worked both nights were so great made us feel very welcome interacted w my son it was the highlight of our trip thanks again!

The hotel is a newer hotel in the area. It was built in 2013, but it is already showing some signs of wear but nothing to lose sleep over.
I’ve stayed at this hotel twice now and found the experience pleasant each time. The indoor water park includes water slides, a lazy river, pool, hot tub, and kids pool with splash activities.
The rooms are a fair size, and lakefront views are amazing. Bring your own pillows… the ones they provide aren’t the most comfortable.
During the summer months they book up and you’ll have a difficult time finding a parking spot at the hotel. Get back early to avoid a bad parking situation.
Overall a good experience and I would stay here again.

The kids loved the water park, but I thought everything was just a little bit dirty and showed a lack of maintenance. The lighting in the water park was atrocious and there were not enough tubes for the lazy river. On the plus side, the breakfast was good and we had a fantastic view of the sunrise. A previous reviewer put it best: this is no Great Wolf Lodge (but neither is the price).

My husband and I booked this hotel last minute for an overnight stay during a road trip through the UP. We thought it would be decent as it was rated 3 stars, but we were both very disappointed. While it was the end of the summer, the paint and wallpaper throughout the hotel was chipping and our room was overly outdated. The bed was very uncomfortable, the sheets were rough, and the blanket was stained. Neither of us really slept at all. The free WIFI was an open network with very weak reception and the free breakfast in the morning was a bit make-​shift. We both agreed that the staff was at least friendly and the beach in the back was pleasant.
Please lower the star rating of this hotel (we booked thru Hotwire) so that other people do not make the same mistake we did! I would have much rather spent a little more money for much more comfort.

Room was nice and clean, but a little small. Hot breakfast was tasty and just a short wait. The kids loved the water slides but there is no life guard on duty and not enough tubes for the lazy river. Still better than most hotel pools. The games in the arcade are old, but better than no arcade. Since the pool and the arcade aren’t our main reasons for coming to the area we’re not disappointed. Its no Great Wolf Lodge though. You get what you pay for!

We show up after being told the room would have a patio out to the beach and spending more at this place for that luxury, only to find they lied. We didn’t even have a balcony option. I tried to explain their front desk told me this information and got no help. Then they told us we can’t check in until 4 when it clearly states on the website says 3! Then they argue with me and I have prove it by pulling up the website which gets“well they need to change that then.” REALLY? Almost 200/​night for this?! So I got online and looked up cost of room:120/night. After two customer service mistakes from my perspective, I thought if I showed them this, they may honor the new posted price. Absolutely not. Point blank.
We went to the waterpark and unfortunately we are spoiled by past hotels with waterparks and this one was measly at best. Also considering the temperature outside, the pool temperature should have been a solid 5 degrees warmer.

Hotel amenities were new; the lake side view is gorgeous. Jetted tub was a nice upgrade as well; a little pricier than the myriad of other options available in the area (and actually a further walk from the strip, too). Through Expedia I paid $ 151 for the king size, jetted tub, lake side room with a sliding glass door and small patio. The room itself was nice, and the beach outside had three different campfires with chairs around! (I like that sort of thing)
One complaint: hotel WAS 100% booked, but I couldn’t find a place to park when I returned from the store at 11pm! I just parked illegally since I was waking up at 6am anyway… plan for a 10-​spot buffer, guys!

Easy check in but the room wasn’t ready when we got to the room. We reserved and checked in with 4 people but only had 3 towels for or entire stay. Internet access is limited at best. Our «queen» beds were twin size with king fitted sheets that kept coming lose during the night. If you use the refrigerator, check to make sure house keeping doesn’t unplug it for you. They cost us a bit of food. When making reservations, I’d look elsewhere. I’m sure there are cheaper and nicer places in the area.

OK here is the latest 2013. Probably fine if you have a lot of kids as there is a water park. Downside is the running up and down the halls. Our beds were fine but one chair has a stain smack in the middle and the small love seat had an obvious stain also. Supposedly has internet, I have one bar. Called and they said they would re-​set. No difference. Went to the lobby where there are full bars. I asked to be moved. They said there was a router right next to my room they would fix it. Came back from dinner, no change. Called again and they said they walked the HALL and there was reception… so I guess I can sit in the hall and get a connection. Seriously. Meanwhile the air conditioner makes a pretty loud bang bang bang so we think it is nice out we will just crack the window as there is a screen (many bugs but they cannot control that) BUT the screen is bend and not properly sealed to the window leaving a gap so we would have bugs… also a very long, gross bird turd on the window !! At this point it is just funny. Check-​in was ok, nothing particularly unfriendly but not welcoming either. Would not stay here again if it were comp’d! There are other choices. Holiday Inn Express is wonderful here.

A great surprise! While driving through the area, I decided I needed to stop for the night. I looked up hotels in the St Ignace/​Mackinaw area on
and cried a little bit (even a Super 8 costs over $ 100!) Bridge Vista Beach fit in to the price range I was looking for and had decent reviews– 3 stars out of 5 on
For less than $ 90 we got the largest, cleanest, nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in on a road trip. It’s a very large hotel with tons of room and apparently a water park as well. It’s located near the city (less than five minutes from the bridge,) along the water, and in a string of hotels that’ll cost you more.
Would definitely stay here again.

According to Travelocity, this place had a lot of complaints. I don’t know why. Our room was wonderful, complete with a view of the beach and a whirlpool. Check-​in went smoothly, the guy that checked us in was pleasant. We were right at the end of a hallway so it was pretty quiet. This hotel is HUGE. When we were looking for it (fiancé forgot the name, just remembered the word Vista), we passed it because we didn’t think that nice of a hotel would be in the price range we paid for. It has an indoor waterpark (10−10pm) and also beach access. Hot breakfast buffet in the morning, which is served 7−10am. Room has a mini fridge too.
